Living Colour Plant Giveaway: St Mary’s Cathedral forecourt, College Street, Sydney 2000. 8am. Sun Nov 13
The City of Sydney’s spring floral displays will be coming to a close next week, which means they’ll be giving away their pots of marigolds, petunias, violas, alyssums, lobelias and celosias for a gold coin donation on Sunday November 13.
Sydneysiders can pick up a pot of flowers or herbs from outside St Mary’s Cathedral from 8am on Sunday morning, until they run out. Each pot is available in exchange for a gold coin donation, which will be used to support the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
Plants and herbs, including chamomile, lemongrass, chocolate mint and apple mint, will be rehoused from the current displays in Darlinghurst, Pyrmont, Green Square, Taylor Square, Ultimo and Kings Cross. The recycling project takes place twice a year when the City of Sydney updates its Living Colour displays..
