  When redeeming gift cards:
  2000 MR points is approximately $15-17, a 3% discount, i.e. Spend $500 get $17.
  1000 MR points is approximately $7.5-8.5, a 8.5% discount, i.e. Spend $100 get $8.50.

  YMMV when redeeming for others (e.g. flights).

  Compared to other Amex offers, not very good.

    worst case, apple has a really good return policy (2 week return period no questions asked even if you've used the product)
