No. It's audio only, and only works with Youtube Music not regular YT.
If you have an Android device then you can get around it somewhat by playing it on your phone and casting your phone audio to the Chromecast.
It essentially turns your dumb-sound system into a smart one. So you can cast spotify, pandora etc.

I don't think it has optical out, so you'd need an adapter. It has 3.5mm out.

I wonder how bad is the lag, if any? Anyone tried before?
At the moment I am using a set of Yamaha bookshelf as computer speakers, connected to the amp and I send the audio from my PC to the amp via Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, but it's buggy and the connection is pretty bad even tho I'm only 3 meters away. I'm hoping with Chromecast Audio via Wifi it'll be more stable.
I got mine from a previous deal. I have found that there are lot of restrictions that i wasnt expecting. I havent had a good play on it yet but i found that spotify wont work unless you have a premium account and neither will youtube. The only way to get these to work is the select Cast screen/audio from the chromecast app (or home as its called now). But (for me) it seemed to stop working after a few plays.
Please correct me if im doing something wrong or if there is a work around
If you have Bluetooth on the devices you stream from, and already have a Bluetooth audio receiver connected to your stereo, does this device (Chromecast audio) offer any advantages?
Off the top of my head the only thing i can think of is that the chromecast will not stop playing music if you go out of range with your phone. Im also assuming that may be the audio quality is better as well
