Went thru the whole list, had about 20 I tried downloading. Only 1 actually went through. Rest are either broken or dead links.

I must be getting old, didnt recognise quite a number of artists.
Some sites might have have links active for a limited time (or EMI might have pulled them given their reputation) but they are still on the record now as free tracks that EMI is denying is/was ever available. Still a lot available/active.
imho, if i was the prosecutor, i'd just be like "oh, i brought my netbook to court… oh look all the links are dead… were they even working in the first place?" :P
If thats the defence they choose to use then the pirate sites could try the same ;-)
Got to love how the record companies pluck random figures from the air about how many millions of illegal downloads are taking place and how much money they might be losing - and no one questions their statistics. I guess they call them reporters rather than journalists for a reason ;-)
