Nice find OP, picked these up for $12 last year at the closing of DS, they sound much better than what they are priced at and will recommend them to anyone looking for a cheap pair of headphones :)

Yes, agree with stuhtb above, however the bass is rather lacking, so if that's your thing then maybe look elsewhere. But for the price, it has great clarity.

    iPhone 7 compatible?

  • Won't appeal to audio nerds but for the rest of us these are very worthwhle headphones at bus fare. I've used them back and forth across the Pacific for about four years and the background noise cancellation works well HOWEVER the standard one prong bayonet plug these headphones come with needs an adaptor to work properly with the airlines two prong setup. Radio Shack or Dick Smith .. wait, they're gone . 😣 .. JB perhaps ??

    • +1

You can find those airline adapters on eBay for $5 shipped for two. Or if you/a mate are flying Jetstar anytime soon ask them to keep the headphones that are provided free as there is an aeroplane headphone adapter included with the cheapy headphones.

Maybe instead of loud-mouthing the headphones, you could be of use and provide a suitable alternative.

    • +1

These aren't noise cancelling. Just before anyone confuses them with active noise cancellation, these would be considered passive noise isolating headphone, but they won't do as good as a job as a Xiaomi Piston for example

      • +1

        passive noise isolating headphone

i.e. they have foam pads on them to stop outside noise

inb4 negs, these headphones regardless of the price suck. Shallow earmuffs mean your ears are painfully pressed against the hard plastic speakers; not to mention the lack of noise cancellation + mediocre sound quality.

    • +1

Haha, enjoy the negs! (None from me - you are entitled to express your informed opinion).

    • cheers, Mr Big Ears

    • Yeah you get what you pay for. I didn't like the sound and they just feel like cheap plastic.

      • Yep. Owned these for a few days. Sound quality is pretty bad even for the price. I wouldn't bother with them unless someone needs them for the kids. Then again my main headphone is an Audeze LCD2.. So my standard is quite high .

I've had a set of these since 2011, still going strong…IMHO they're fine at the sub-$20 price point, but getting up around the $30 tag is stretching it a bit.

Honestly, the sound is exactly what you would expect at the price point, and the fit is middle of the road, if you have a weird shaped melon or big lugs, you need to look elsewhere.

  • Got a pair of these for work, pretty decent noise and comfortable. I believe I paid $35 from PCCG.

The attached cable is seriously long as sh1t! I faceplanted twice walking away from my desk before bundling up the considerable excess cable with a rubber band, consider this a PSA!

    • +1

I've had a pair of these for a while, and that long cable is very annoying. Lost count of the number of times I've tripped over it and almost run over it with my chair. Also, it's a bit fragile.. I've now got pieces of tape patching up where the plastic has broken in a number of places.

Reasonably good sound for a very cheap price, but the cable and earpads are low quality. Don't expect them to last a long time.

These are terrible. Bought them in London last year to replace a set that died. They are SO QUIET! I downloaded a heap of audio adjustment apps, rooted phone etc and they are just not practical unless you're in a completely silent environment.

Oh and as a side note, they also are not "stepped on by a 90kg bloke" proof in case that helps anyone's decision.

I hated these. You're better off getting even Razor Krakens. Shallow earmuffs so it's uncomfortable for long periods of use. The earmuffs uses this really soft material that once it gets wet with sweat or whatever, it degrades into a flaky mess. Especially the top part which is padded with it. I put these away for a few months at the end of its lifecycle and came back with those flakes EVERYWHERE. It's just gross. Cotton balls would be the equivalent and more sanitary. It just makes it more length that can crack with wear and tear. The cord is sooo unnecessarily long, it just adds to weight of the wear. The worst part is how the muffs can swivel towards and away from your face. It sucks. If you get good headphones they are unnecessary and are just an unnecessary source of stress. The plastic is way too fragile to handle this kind of unregulated range of movement.

    • there is seriously just not enough bass on these. U will also need an amp as the sound loudness output from mobile phones/ipods are just not loud enough. Just got two sets of white Pioneers from this deal delivered, much better sounding IMHO and cheaper https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266525 (out of stock now)
