Free Domino's Pizza (Worth up to $13.95) When You Trade $50+ Worth of Games @ EB Games

60

i've had 4 so far and i'm getting a bit sick of them.
surprised nobody has posted this deal.
its listed in a few of their weekly emails they send out to members.
basically trade $50 or more of games and probably hardware and a few days later you will receive a code for a free pizza at dominos.
its valid on a few different types of pizza. value range and 2 pricier ranges i forget which but one range are around the 11.95 mark and the other round 13.95.
the store worker can bring up the details on their system.
not sure expiry date but they do tend to reset pricing etc on mondays.

if you are doing a big trade split it up into smaller $50 plus trades.
not sure if the $50 includes bonuses such ad 20% member trade in or bonus trade in on psvr etc but i think its probably based on the base trade before bonuses.
check your recent eb emails and u will see the deal mentioned.

it might be for members only but membership is free.

so if you get a $14 pizza free on a $50 trade its roughly a 28% bonus

  • Such a disappoint when you get to the second half of the title. Out of curiosity do they pay well?

    • +11

No. I would prefer to burn my games than give them to EB

      • +1

Thought they might pay well since their second hand games are such a rip off

    • +1

      do they pay well?

You're kidding yeah? They're a business out to make money. They would offer you about half the going rate, as a trade (depending on your EB level).

I once saw a guy trade his old Xbox 360 and about 100 games on disc and he had less than half of what he needed to get an Xbox One (just the console). Much better off putting them up on Gumtree.

actually just got a gow 2tb and a psvr from trading.
if you are smart you can do very nicely.
a lot of veteran ozbargainers dint seem to know how lol

heres a few tips for eb games greenthumbs
1 have a quick look at cex and ebay to get rough values for the games
2 assume eb pays about 1/3 of their website listed price
3 call a slow store to check prices if u can be bothered - its ozbargain so u can be.
4 trade on a bonus offer week
      - on every month
currently theres 30% bonus trade on some preorders + member bonus - thats 50% for me
      - often royghlythe same as ebay values after fees, not to mention the hassle

theres some other tricks but thats enough for lesson 1 today

if u r a chump who just throws a pile of games at eb staff then you dont belong on ozbargain lol

      • Interesting, thanks a lot for sharing! Sorry the others thought it was a bad deal

There's just a rampant unnecessary hate for EB around here, you should just ignore it, all these people have outdated views and haven't stepped in to one in 10yrs.

You can do fine on trade ins but you should wait for the bonus value deals. If you have the time to sell it yourself, you'll make more money, that's not rocket science. EB is about convenience, that always comes with a price and the price is they take the extra cut you'd get if you sold it yourself because guess what…their the ones doing the selling! OH NO, how positively evil of them to expect the money from doing all the work!

Anyway, if you're smart some times very good situations can line up. If another store has a big sale, check what EB is selling those games for, often their still at RRP and that also often means the trade-in value is high (not always). It has worked out on more than one occasion for me that I can buy a game at one store and trade it in at EB for more than I paid. The promotion bonuses are accumulative, so if you have 15-20% from your member card and their doing an extra 15%, you get 30-35% bonus trade in value. With your trade in value, the trick is to split it up in to pre-orders, then price match them on release when you pick up, just don't put over $40 in any one title.

The key to getting your membership level up is very simple, walk in and price match, never been rejected. Same game, same price, grow your bonus trade value, your level sticks forever so it's just another option in your arsenal of deals.

It sounds like a lot but it really isn't, this takes me about an hour, selling 50 games on eBay takes me weeks and a lot of hassle with a lot of trips to the post office. After eBay and PayPal take their cut and all the money you lose on postage trying to be competitive on price, you'll really start to wonder which option is more worth it. Personally I value my time much higher than the extra money.

Don't think anything will ever beat the old "JB 3 for 1 deal then trade at EB for some obscene amount of store credit" deal.

You could get 3 old used games from GAME or EB themselves (lol!) for $10 to $20, then trade them for the latest copy of COD or whatever at JB, then take it to EB and get $50 / $60 / $70 store credit.

Use the credit to buy more used games etc etc.

The amount of credit you could rack up with just a few hours work and $20 outlay made it feel almost criminal!

        Those were the days ;)

Wouldn't even get a free pizza for trading in a 160GB PS3…they only give you $46:

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2332926&…

…which they then sell for $128 after swapping out the official Sony controller with a generic one lol!

    • Pfft, I'd give you $47 for your PS3 so I can have a back up.

    • I am more than happy to offer you $50. I just wanted to play some old games on PS3 :D

Me: Hi, I'd like to trade in my 20 PS4 games. Only played with them once. How much can I get for them?
EB Games: $18 of the lot.
    Me: …..

    • Exaclty like that!!!!

      They are a joke

I have like 70 vita games and not one i bought from Eb…

  • +1

You might get a decent trade value on any $20 or less game you've bought from Target.

  • +1

Always check if they have a trade in bonus too, and trade towards a pre order. Cancel it and move it along for extra money, albeit 20% more of not much lol
