I think with my first child my wife and I spent, that amount on a baby bed, change table and a pram.

  • Thanks Op :) Does anyone have experience with these and any recommendations?

    • +1

currently using it with our newborn, can't recommend it enough.

Light weight, easy to fold, good break. Can add another seat for 2nd child.

      • Thanks! how are the wheels? easy to roll on all surfaces? And how would you rate the durability of the material of both the structure and the add-ons?

        • +1

no complaints with the wheels so far. durability-wise, frame, bassinet, seat, cloth seem premium

@ericc: Thanks for your feedback! Sounds like an awesome unit and may consider getting it as it seems like a good deal here.

      • dont think its lightweight. i have 10+ kg pram, and it does not feel lightweight

    • +3

The colour makes it camouflaged so you could loose it in the park.

We are expecting our first child but have nieces and nephews, thus have used many different prams. I was trying to see if I could purchase a pram and borrow a bassinet as it is only for a few months. But when we compared the Reds Baby to other prams it was a better experience and it worked out to be the same cost of some of the other prams only

We looked at Mountain Buggy and few others and on the balance of things, the Jive was a good balance of features that we wanted. Easy to manoeuvre both open and collapsed. Compact size when in the car. Plus we get to own the bassinet and the bonuses really tipped it over the line.

An unexpected bonus was how knowledgeable the Staff were and happy to answer any questions that we had.

      • Great to hear, thanks for your feedback. It does really sound like a quality product!

The cost of having a baby scare the crap out of me. o_0

Then again i'm a sucker for nicely engineered stuff. This pram looks like very compact when folded. I've seen prams where they take up the whole boot space of a Subaru Forestor.

was also at the same show and the only thing that turned me off this one was the pneumatic tyres. i can imagine getting a flat while my wife is out in the park alone with the pram and having issues getting home.

hence decided to stay away, otherwise was quite impressed.

ended up ordering a bugaboo chameleon 3 for ~$1160, down from just over ~$1600. the core accessories are the same (seat, bassinet, rain cover, canopy etc) as this one and a lot more interesting colours.

    • Where did you get this from? The price is really good~!

        Baby bunting in Auburn Sydney

  • Choice gave this stroller a pretty poor score - and this stroller failed key safety tests. Apparently, this was updated in Aug but choice hasn't retested. MIght be worth further research for this if you are keen on buying!?

    • Lots of people seem to be impressed with this stroller giving it 5 stars:

You are correct but….Almost all the prams on choice fail safety tests.

It's absurd. Any pram for sale in Aus complies with standards and is deemed to be safe. You need to apply common sense. The testing criteria goes on to say that all prams comply 100% BUT that they fail some of the tests from a non-mandatory AS/NZS standard (I can look it up if anyone wants it)

Most the choice failures are linked around the harness and potential for choking.

We opted for the Cybex which only received a 38% score on choice. Lol the $99 Target pram was rated the highest by Choice.

PS - We recently joined Choice to make our first time baby purchases easier - all Choice did was confuse us even more…..

Bulky and heavy! Its the SUV pram fad.
    I prefer the lightweight umbrella strollers. $25 - $99 .

    • +1

You can't use an upright stroller for babies (newborns) as they don't have neck control - so these have a place - albeit limited to about 6 months then would outgrow the bassinet.

Note - they have a sale on the Bounce model $499 https://www.redsbaby.com.au/sale-prams/

      • For babies, I much preferred a Babybjörn harness to a pram. Very comfy for you and the bub.
And guys - they are total chick magnets.

For newborns, a car capsule is great for short distances so as not to wake them. Heavy, but fits in a supermarket trolley :-)
