Review from Target Website here:

I was looking for a RC aircraft with at least 4 channels and which would give me a "fly-by-wire" feel. Finally I came across the P0116 drone and was quite amazed the product has so many features for so low a price!

It's got:
1) pitch, roll and yaw and VTOL capability
2) USB charging
3)Fly by night because of powerful LEDs
4) 4 channels 2.4 GHz transmitter
5) Ability to trim controls
6) Ability to re-calibrate the controls
7) Stunt-assisted capability

a training drone for when i get my DJI

I have a feeling they would be quite different, got an Eachine H8, it flies ok, but then I got a parrot mini droid and that thing is so much easier to fly.

  • How many do I need to film with a GoPro? :)

    • +41

GoPro can film without it. So zero required.

  • only concern is the youtube video you linked they really seem to struggle just hovering.

    • Here's is the JJ810, pretty much the same I think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSLY_g-uRso&spfreload=10

    • when they get this small, most quads struggle with basic flying, particularly in the wind.

It's all about balancing component weight (particularly battery) and material strength, this small even a few grams can make a difference.

If people want a solid one for flying, buy the hubsan H107 (non camera models)

I got one would not recommend it as flying indoors it lack stability and pitch and yaw controls are pretty bad,
advanced flyer could probable fly it
My first one broke in crash target was very good in exchanging it for another and offered my money back but i wanted some flight training :)

    • wait.. am i reading this right that flying INDOORS it lacks stability???

      • yep i can fly the bigger kmart X6 without issues outdoors and indoors so unlikely its my fat fingers…i think..

I've gone through around 10 micro quads over the years and to me, they're all pretty much the same.
However this one does seem to have a slower turning circle (slow rotation? Whatever you call it).
I've gone through 3 of these target ones ;)

My favourite quad for under $20 is this:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/262680
Fast and takes a good beating, though it is bigger.

  • how does this compare to the h101?

    • My H101, before it got damaged could fight wind pretty well and fly outside easily. This can't?

      • H101 is great, not to be confused with the somewhat larger R101.

  • Dohh which one to buy didn't realise they were so cheap now……

Point 3 (Fly by night because of powerful LEDs) is amusing compared to this beast demonstrated below - some amazing footage btw

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl1xYyGom1g (1000W LED on a DRONE - RCTESTFLIGHT)

Now that's what I call powerful LEDs :)

    • not really related but watched the whole thing. wow they got some incredible shots with that setup.

  • Great price for a drone you can buy and have now. If you want to wait and get bargain, go for the H101 from everbuying. This has been on special a number of times between $9 and $14.

    • Yes, I did ordered both from GreedyBest and Neverbuying in different "Deal", both end up refund and a lot of waiting, wasted 60 days+ on each order. And finally realize they are the same company, so for me the different is not just money but the time spend to deal with paypal is worth far more than the $5 dollars.

Gees, look like you had bad luck, mine came in 2 weeks without problem. Yep nothing better than having the product instantly.

  • Would be nice if the deal can "click and collect in Big W or Woolworth"

  • Does anyone know if these are available in store?

    • Ring Target product enquiries 1300 753 567 & they will let you know.

  • Would this be manageable by a 11 year old for Xmas?

    • Yep, definitely; they will aim to master the controls over the Holidays! Cheap time killer!

      • Got the last one at Target Charlestown NSW

I've been to all my local Target stores, but nothing in stock - even when calling the Help Line and confirming that some stores had more than 10 in stock.

Looks like I'll have to be a true Ozbargainer - order two for click and collect (so that shipping/handling is free), then return one of them in store…
