Usually $369, still showing as $338 on eBay, in addition to the 20% off eBay code = $270.40. It was just listed today (edit, replaced older listing). Note that the price may rise after midnight on eBay when the $338 special ends on the website. So far as good.

This is a new/recent model, AO reviews and a few comments in the previous $346 deal.

I bought one 20 years ago and still going strong. Highly recommended.

I have this exact unit, any question welcome.

    • Any good for small laundry room with limited ventilation? (ie will have to leave portal window ajar). Is it reasonably effective at drying? Quick enough?

      Thanks

I have mine in a small bathroom (apartment) and it has one exhaust. The room does get quite humid, but not water dripping off the walls. A window ajar would be plenty enough for internal venting. It is very fast at drying. The sensor mode will dry a full loud in 1-1.5 hours. It also has an air dry function which doesn't use heat which comes on handy for items which can't be tumble dried!

      • I've got the exact same model inside a small laundry room, bought from TGG ebay during a sale. Even with a small external ventilation and the room door open, I get vapor drips on at least 3 of the walls. I'll be pipe venting it out soon.

    • Per bwatt99, same question, does this need to vented outside? Or will an open small window next to the dryer do?

      • It can be front and rear vented (comes front venting but includes all the gear to convert to rear)

Will a large cat fit inside it?

  • I take they charge extra for delivery and when it means vented does A hose need to be fixed to outside?

    • Free click & collect/pick up or $35.44 standard delivery. Added to OP thanks.

    • Yes it needs the fittings to vent it outside, make sure they have it and dont accept the dryer without it.
Plan how you intend to vent the thing, I did it through the ceiling into the loft but have been told thats not recommended

    • two options
default one is front vented without a hose to be fixed to the outside
second option is ducted at the back with a hose to the outside

    • Ah that explains the new listing this evening, missed that thanks. That was a very good price, $338 is already the cheapest around.

  • Looking for a cost effective dryer. Heat pump too expensive so looking at a condenser dryer. Any recommendations for a solid reputable condenser dryer?

    • the LG condenser dryer i got about 5 months ago, absolutely love it. though whatever room you put it in, really gets hot when its running.

      • Which model is this? Dont think it's on the ebay gg site unfortunately

    • Unless you have major damp issues (eg drying is inside a cupboard) there is no point getting a condenser dryer over a vented - especially since they are much more expensive. If you can't step up to a heat pump, you should stick to vented.

Been led to believe condenser dryers produce less heat than vented and are more energy efficient. I have quite a small laundry and concerned about mould.

      • not everyone can put a vented in their house, im renting for example and my laundry isnt quite setup to do a vented.

  • geez am i one of those rare old fashioned types that hang clothes on the line to dry :D

Welcome to Sydney. Let me show you around my 1 bedroom apartment with no outdoor living space and no backyard. And no sunlight in half the rooms. And a laundry space 1mm bigger in each direction than the whitegoods that inhabit it.

      • ahh makes sense then

    • Towels finish nice in the dryer as well. Socks, undies and other sacrificial clothes -> dryer (take too many pegs and too much time to hang)

  • I bought the bigger brother 5kg. Need 2 people to wall mount. Handy tip get a ruler with a level. Makes the job much easier.

    • Thanks I added the 5kg option in too as that also seems a good price with TGG.

  • Does the 5kg one has a lint filter? If yes, where is it?

I was using the drying paper and kept caught in the intake with eletrolux dryer.

    • Yes, both 4kg and 5kg model have it.

      Cleaning the lint filter

Lint is generally formed during wearing and washing.
Fibres (ie lint) released from the clothes during the
drying cycle are collected in the lint filter.

Read page 29 for more information.

      • Thank you for the info.

It is the same as my electrolux. Drying paper seems like to stuck there.

        Cheers,

  • Do these include whatever accessories are needed to mount and vent in various configurations or they optional extras you have to purchase in addition?

  • Listed here are the 4kg model and the 5kg model.
There are a lot of pretty alarming reviews for their bigger brother the 6kg.
I don't know if they have the same technology inside, but the model numbers all follow the same pattern so it's fair to assume they are the same series.

  • Knew this deal was too good to be true. Good guys decided to allocate this order to a store 40 minutes away. They promised delivery on 3 separate occasions and then decided it was too much hassle and cancelled the order (after a barrage of verbal abuse from the store). I'm steering clear of any ebay Good Guys deals from now on.
