Hi guys just found a great deal on eglobal while they are having a 5% off sale. For some reason 64 GB is listed cheaper than the 32 gb.

This one also has the x25 processor instead of x20 processor.

  • Be aware that there's no official global ROM for the Redmi Pro and eGlobal does warn you the phone comes with the Chinese ROM and any rooting or flashing a 3rd party ROM will result in a void of their warranty.

    • I believe that the Chinese Rom has English and Chinese as languages. So as long as you're happy to use one of those two languages, this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

      • Yes there should be English for system language but Google Play Store (or essentially, Google Play Services) will not be available. So you'll be stuck with Xiaomi's bundled Chinese apps or worse, vendor ROM with malware, reported on many Xiaomi phones sold online that did not state to have official English ROMs.

        • You can install it quite easily though: http://xiaomitips.com/guide/install-gapps-stock-miui-google-…

But I agree with you with vendor ROMs!

        • Yes that's a fair point. I do have a mipad 2 with stock Chinese rom and installed Google play via Google play installer. It is a great device for someone who know how to do basic tinkering in android, obviously not as smooth of a process as apple or Samsung straight out of the box.

        • I have this phone for exactly 10 weeks now. I installed google play via "google play installer". However it seems not so stable. Some app that rely on google services may shut itself sometimes or more frequently :(

The solution I found over internet, is to reinstall "Google Play". This is done again using the "google play installer". The app can remove google services as well as to install them again. It is a good idea to keep "google play installer", do not delete it. I reinstall "Google Play" 3 times so far. The most recent one is done about 7 weeks ago. So far so good.

But this brand is confirmed to sending data back to China.

There's also a brand of phone that explodes. If you generalise 1 problem with the entire brand, you'll never end up buying anything

@CodeXD: One out of hundreds phone that company releases every year explodes surely does mean all their other phones are bad. But Xiaomi(and to some extends Huawei and ZTE) is confirmed for installing apps for most of their phones so they can send personal data back to China.

        • Google sent data to FBI as well.

        • @melblover: yeah I often wonder. People put so much information on social media and Google well and truly knows where I have been and what I did. You will have to live completely offline if you think someone's gonna steal my data.

  • Guys just a quick update. Orders on the 11th and received on the the 13th. Clean software and extremely good quality phone. I think the 5℅off ends today
