        • @janster:
I tried $1550 and they rejected that offer.

        • @Mattycee: Thanks Mattycee, you've been great help! I'm just trying to ask them if they do "Click and collect at Woolworth or BigW" so I can stack the 10% off with the $100 eBay voucher haha

        • @janster: they say it's local stock but I asked whether they include a tax invoice with GST to which they replied no, that's peculiar isn't it?

        • @enzioFirenze: It definitely is! They said the same thing to me about tax invoice as well but are adamant that the product is covered by a local distributor in Melbourne.

        • @janster: Might be worth asking for an ABN. You can then check to see they're registered for GST. If they make less than $70k they don't have to register for GST and don't need to charge it. If they are registered for GST. They must provide a Tax Invoice on request.

        • @bluechan: this could actually make sense. Not really sure whether they make less than $70k.

        • @enzioFirenze: They might not even have an ABN. It could be some kid on selling from his bedroom. You never know. At least if you ask for the ABN. You can get a better picture of what's going on.

        • @bluechan: yeah, they have a strange ID history on eBay that kinda doesn't make any sense to me: have a go at it;

User ID: Effective Date End Date
          uav_depot 10-Dec-13 Present
          perry.boy 09-Dec-15 10-Dec-13

        • @enzioFirenze:
          I sent this to uav_depot:
Please confirm that you will provide a Tax Invoice. As I will be travelling soon and want to claim the GST back.
          Please also provide your ABN.
I am not able to find your store name on the authorised DJI reseller list. Would you be listed by another name?

          I received this in reply:
          Hi good morning!
Glad to contact you on eBay,this is Elaine here.
We do not have formal GST Invoice for you,we have only purchaing receipt for after-sales service.
Yes,you can not find us on the website of DJI,because we are distributor, which is mainly for on-line and bulk selling. We have been selling DJI products for two years and can ensure it is original product with official guarantee.
          Best regards
          Elaine

The response doesn't build great confidence. Me personally I've already ordered through UAVWholesale.com.au but they haven't responded to my last email for an update. I'll have to chase them up tomorrow.

Additionally DJI customers have started a tracking spreadsheet:

If you want to add yourself onto the spreadsheet enter your order details here:

        • @bluechan:
Anyone have ETA on Aus Stock ETA?

        • @GTR4N:
          There was this:
          http://www.dji.com/newsroom/news/mavic-pro-shipping-update-n…

Annnddd… UAV Wholesale have said they were getting a delivery this week. But they don't know what's in it. So fingers crossed… I'm just hoping that wasn't BS to stop me from cancelling my order…

    • Are you sure they are an DJI Authorized dealer in Australia? Couldn't find them here - http://www.dji.com/where-to-buy - UAV Wholesale was there but they are a different company.

      • They are advertised on their eBay auction as an authorised dealer. I can contact them and ask the question, but I am only going from their eBay auction.
Others have asked the question too and been told they are and are getting theirs through EE Hobbies or something like that.

I will confirm that myself today.

        • See my conversation below.

          Hi,

Hi - is this confirmed as "Australian stock" and are you guys an "Australian Authorised DJI". I want to make sure it is covered by Australian DJI warranty.

        • @alvins: they say it's local stock but I asked whether they include a tax invoice with GST to which they replied no, that's peculiar isn't it?

  • Received this earlier today:

    Hi all,

Firstly, thankyou for your purchase of your Mavic Pre-order.

Unfortunately, as some predicted, DJI have delayed the Mavic production globally. There are some release notes below. Obviously this is disappointing for all of us. We are actively trying to get detailed information from DJI regarding the delay, but we believe there were technical issues with firmware in the production models which had to be fixed prior to bulk production being released on 15th October.

If you are receiving this email, you are in our top 100 for delivery of the first shipment when it arrives. Ebay are requesting we cancel your orders by the end of this week as we cannot deliver on time. Unfortunately this means you will be put back to the bottom of our list of over 300 units now sold.

Can you please contact us via email, or on the number below to ensure your order remains at the top of our list for shipment.

Here is some reference material for you to view regarding the delays.

    • Which company was this from?

    • Have you heard back from UAV Wholesale re order status via ebay? I have sent two emails over the last two weeks and have not received a response after being told that a refund would be initiated because of eBay guidelines which required the product to be shipped within 25 days.

      • Order was cancelled and a new order was placed with them directly for the same price I was paying on eBay with the 10% discount (so $1890 for the Fly More combo). Been a bit quiet since then, but then again, DJI have been pretty quiet too.

  • I used this to just get a Mavic from the UAV Depot eBay store for $1404. I put in an offer for $1560 and it was accepted and then used the C10AUZ code to get 10% off the final sale.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pre-order-DJI-Mavic-Pro-RC-Quadco…

They have 3000+ rating where they have sold literal tonnes of DJI products and say they are an authorised Australian reseller.

Has anyone here done the same? I might post it as a separate deal.

    • Multiple people have done it, it's actually listed at the top that you can get it for that price.

  • Just FYI for anybody purchasing from UAV depot, they say it's Australian stock but it's likely to be grey imports as the product doesn't come with GST and they do not issue a tax invoice, in case anybody was thinking of claiming GST under TRS, that's not gonna happen with these guys.

    • You should repost the deal from 29/10 which was deleted, that business looked as they they may supply a GST invoice and it could have been cheaper there if using TRS - also perhaps with an earlier shipping date.

I'm on a browser where it doesn't remember history - so I can't remember what site it was.

      • +1

it was from BuyMobile mate but they don't seem to have GST either so this is actually the cheapest. Thanks for pointing that out mate :)

  • Does anyone have any updates?

  • anybody got their Mavics?

    • +1

The tracking spreadsheet indicates 4 Aussies have received their UAVs.
      https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kKXr62-BEd1woHWReUC4…

And one fellow on Whirlpool has received his:
      https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2571664&…

      • yeah I've seen reports from a couple of blokes in DJI forums as well. Looks like UAV_depot shipped one unit at least according to the whirlpool forum you linked. Good to know. I've been talking with them and they seem to have placed their order with DJI early on which means they should be getting their shipments soon too.

        • About a week ago I emailed them asking for a shipping update if possible.

I was told that I should get mine in mid November (so potentially within the next week or two). I ordered mine when there was about ~16 sold on the eBay listing which is up to 36 now (although I'm sure they sold more through other avenues).

Even if there was more shipping delays it could be worse.. we could have ordered a Karma :P

        • @c0balt: I kinda think Karma recall is actually a responsible response from GoPro and Mavic has had pretty much the same amount of crashes although it didn't fall from the sky. So I think if DJI was been responsible, they would have at least grounded the Mavic as well. Mavic has the new OccuSync and a new RC which seems the cause of the problem.

        • @enzioFirenze: any chance you can provide URLs to the DJI forum threads where the other Aussies have reported receiving theirs?

        • +1

@bluechan: spans across multiple threads, the latest I've seen is this (3rd comment).

  • A mate in QLD who pre ordered from DJI around the time it was announced recently got his and has been live streaming on facebook a few of his flights.

Cmonnnnnnnnn already, it's getting hard to bear!

  • Any Mavic batteries in stock anywhere?

  • This better be the week they get shipped…

    • I received an update last week from my seller (UAVwholesale) and was essentially told that there is so much uncertainty that a delivery date cannot be provided. I have heard also through other local resellers that some have only received a handful of stock when they have hundreds of pre-orders. Not looking good if you purchased through local re-sellers.

      • +1

I've requested that they inform me of a more solid date.

I'm going away shortly and if I can't get the Mavic by then, it would potentially be cheaper (and less stressful) to pick one up when I am away and I will want to cancel my order from UAV Depot and get my PalPal cash back.

Although DJI completely dropped the ball on this and I would prefer it if another company came out with a direct competitor (I don't view the Karma as a competitor due to size and lack of features), around the same price and I would jump on that given apples to apples.

        • On the exact same boat as you.

  • I received a shipping notification and tracking number from UAV Depot this afternoon.

  • Just got my Mavic Pro delivered this morning !!!! I placed my order at the end of Oct.

    • Who did you order through?

      • UAV Depot

  • Received my 20th October order this afternoon.

There were issues with the delivery as the name on the con-note wasn't me. It's looking like it might be a TNT issue as on another page it has my name on it. The address was me, along with the tracking number and all of that so I was able to get a re delivery pretty soon after the courier came and left after speaking to the building manager.

Can confirm that my UAV Depot order is the AU version (says on the back of the box). However the box said it was also the fly more combo, but was the standard version (as ordered).

Leaving it to charge as I flick though the reading material (it's all pretty much tattooed onto my brain after watching videos nearly daily for the last 7 weeks).

Looking to maiden the mav-flick tomorrow afternoon after a bit of simulator time tonight.
