Hi… I just received one of these today that i ordered a few weeks ago…

So impressed, i just ordered another.

I wasn't expecting much…. but i have to say…. THIS THING IS AROUND %500 BETTER… then i thought it would be.

It feels like a well made extremely chunky cool watch…Its FAT!… the leather band is insanely think… Like no other watch ive seen…. im kind of blown away by it.

This is day one… so it might well be broken by next week…. so buyer beware…

But for a statement dress watch… i think its awesome value… hence the post.

Perhaps you should have bought a new keyboard before a new watch. Here you go: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/268767

  • +3

Not really a bargain, just a cheap watch.

  • -7

    Its FAT!…

Most people want a slim and comfortable watch, not to strap grannie's mantle clock to their wrist using a 4WD Snatch Strap.

But for a statement dress watch

Well yes, at 16mm thick you're certainly making a statement… but my guess is that onlookers will be whispering that you look like an absolute (profanity) ROFL

EDIT: The substitution of my (not rude) word by the post filter actually made it better LOL

    • +2

my guess is that onlookers will be whispering that you look like an absolute (profanity) ROFL

My guess is they'll barely register he/she is wearing a watch. Well 10% of them will, the rest of them will not even register that. And I guess there's going to be the 1 in a thousand dude thinking

you look like an absolute (profanity) ROFL

But they'll be whispering to themselves and people will be slowly moving away from them.

Ok guys.. Ive learned my lesson.

Last time i try to give back to the ozbargain community..

Ill just enjoy other peoples posts from now on…. too many trolls here for me to waste any more time and effort on shit like this.

    So let it rip.

    • -1

How are you giving back? This isn't a bargain, not much else to it.

      • +19

you'd be surprised how many people buy similar quality watches from tick-tock/shoe repair places for like $70

        cut the OP a break.

Not everybody is interested in SD cards, SSDs and pointless 20% off eBay deals with jacked up prices

        • -1

          Lol, thanks for the neg.

As I've said twice now, this isn't a deal. And if you've bothered to look through anything on eBay, you'll notice there's actually quite a few deals. Not everything is jacked up. :)

          Lol yes we are!

          @cala90:

Thanks for clearing that up then.

Since you're the expert on watch bargains, do you think I should splash out for the panerai luminor or settle for the magrette moana pacifica waterman. I really like the leoncido but I wonder if that encroaches too far from homage to knock off terittory

          Please do advise

          @sagiballs:

do you think I should splash out for the panerai luminor or settle for the magrette moana pacifica waterman

          Why not both?

        • @sagiballs:

Sounds like you're into knock offs so I highly doubt you're the type to be spending $10k+ on a watch :)

        • +2

          @cala90:

Well to it is hard to justify spending 1/10th of one's current income on a watch (which admittedly is very nice) when there is a similar alternative for 1/200th - with a very nice miyota movement to boot

I was really hoping for more helpful advice since you are the expert in watch bargains. Solid 3/10 service

Not every post is a world shattering bargain.
Try to restrain from bagging everyone who attempts to contribute to OZB like the OP with this one.
If you want to deter posters from posting then keep up the effort… it seems to have worked with this time.

    • +3

Not to my taste but thanks for posting none the less

You don't get much watch for $20 that's not just a plastic digital casio (/wannabe). As an alternative sometimes you can find good deals on timex weekenders

I was recently very pleasantly surprised by my most recent acquisition of a (unbranded version) of a Rodina R005 for $100 USD. Automatic with hand winding, 40hr power reserve and so far unscratched (claimed sapphire) crystal

You tried and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try.

It's OzBargain - this was a surprise to you? :D

I think you may have overreacted by disabling yourself after a few comments that you didn't like.
No one has negged you & some of us appreciate the effort.
While this isn't necessarily a bargain you could have chosen to learn from it and move on.
If you haven't read the deal posting guidlines yet then here is the link

Also here is a couple of links where you can post stuff like this and get a much better reception -

Always some interesting reading on those WUS links. Gotta love the names of some of those China watches.

  • i wish he didnt disable the account so he could provide us updates as to how long it lasts :( not being sarcastic or anything, my partner is quite a klutz with his watch and i wouldnt mind getting a cheap one that lasts for a 'decent' amount of time.

How much do you want to spend and what style do you want?
      Genuine Casio Watch Deals Here.

      • he likes the giorgio armani style ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Emporio-Armani-Mens-AR2463-Classi… , like this) but the last time he bought one, took only a few months before the leather strap looked all haggard and .. peely? but i can replace the strap once its far gone enough i suppose :)

wouldnt mind something around the $50 mark if it can take a few knocks and last a year :) haha

        • +4

That style of watch isn't really great for getting knocked around.

I have to mention the Casio Diver MDV106-1AV USD $48.07 Delivered (Approx AUD $63.50) @ Amazon as it's close to your budget but will last a hell of a lot longer than a year. It's pretty much the best value watch you can buy.

        • Some nice clean seiko automatics to be had around the $350 mark (google cocktail time + similar)

Some other cheaper more field style (similar to flieger… google it) around $50-120

StarJewels often post citizen eco-drive bargains around the $100 mark on this site. Very good watches for the price if you like the style

If it's just the strap that's cactus might I recommend hirsch straps. I've had many great straps from them.

Just need to buy a cheap springbar tool and make sure you change the strap with the watch face down so you don't risk scratching it if you slip.

        • +1

@28Degrees: +1 this. Had this for around a week now and have nothing to complain about. The watch definitely is worth more than what you are buying it for

    • +2

Good "cheapies" here too, plus they work https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/264736 :)

      • +1

ooo thanks! i clicked the link where it took you to the list and that black resin one looks pretty good (he doesnt like digital haha) christmas sorted ;) lucky he doesnt go on ozb.

  • Op just got banned?

    • Nah..

Ill just enjoy other peoples posts from now on…. too many trolls here for me to waste any more time and effort on shit like this.

      He made his choice…

  • -1

    Geeze, what an overreaction.

My post was just taking the piss, as I wouldn't be seen dead in this.

Remember when all the One Direction specials were running a few years ago… everyone bagged the shit out of the products but the OP's didn't chuck a tanty.

    • Lol true, not sure why OP's taken it personally..? We are just here for good banter :P

Plus imagine how these guys feel.. they will most likely not leave haha

      • +3

Why would op hang around for you to "banter" with ??

    • -1

i guess what op might do today is to buy a flight ticket and fly over to syria….

  • +2

    ….drama!

  • I guess you just have to watch what you say here .. :-) .. !! Quality 'impression' watch at a good price https://www.amazon.com/Orient-Automatic-Watch-Pepsi-CEM65003…

Try to ignore them.. they are just rock throwers who contribute nothing.
School holidays like now they seem to be more active.
Most of us appreciate members efforts to report their finds… world shattering or not.

    • Watch deals don't really attract a lot of votes anyway, so with 6 votes already I'd be pretty happy if I posted this.

don't we all carry phones with a clock in it now…? watches have gone the way of posers and peacocks. iv'e got a phone that doubles as a watch… when can i buy a watch that doubles as a phone… smartwatch… pfft.

    • when can i buy a watch that doubles as a phone

Imagine if the Apple Watch was 15mm thick ROFL
