good price, back in my day the little box may have cost double for same features/specs

    • +5

Anything's possible when you add the word may.

  • This Beelink TV Box looks as good as my MINIX player for 1/3 of the price. Good deal.

    • i would be expecting android 6 support by. ow on tv boxes….. there are many 905x boxes and they are all android 6 now.

      • But not with that type of remote control and price range.

I have the Original Xiaomi Wireless Gamepad/Joypad for my Samsung Gear VR and games on my Android tablet and phones and it never fails.
Quality feel and finish to it too. Really impressed with it and got it for the a similar price.
Some of the cheaper controllers will not work with some games or the Gear VR, but this one has had a 100% success rate with me so far.
    Highly recommended.

Is the beelink Mini mx better than the beelink Mini mxiii?

  • +2

The Xiaomi gamepads are really underrated.

  • i literally just make an order for xiaomi controller and beelink, any chance to get the gearbest credit for the controller :)

  • Specs on the link show Ram 1G and Rom 8G, is this correct or is it 2G + 16G advertised.

    • Both exist models exist. I'd go with specs on the site, is v1.0 after all, the one I have. The 2/16 model came out after.

    • Hmm. If you go to change the color, you can select between gbgb and gbgb, but one is $35 an MD the other is $56 and says 2/16

  • +1

Hmm, price of gamepad goes up when I apply the code. Am I missing a step?

I have the 1gb 8gb MiniMX, makes a great Kodi box an JF there is a OpenElec/LibreElec build for it that gives much better performance than running it though Android.

  • +2

I got a similar S905 box and if you're buying it for kodi you'll definitely want to put openelec or libreelec on it. The builds of android they make are horrible.

Also the 2gb RAM/16gb storage version is overkill for that. Should be able to get an 1/8 version for half the price.

    • OK, I did buy one for Kodi, and am annoyed with the DTS passthrough SPDIF dropping out issue that they apparently all have. Any decent guide you found to drop openelec on this box?

      • +1

I used this one: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread-1497.html - just be sure to try running it from SD first then install onto the internal memory once you know it works. Still bugs here and there but the passthrough has been working well for me over the past few weeks :)

        • +1

Thanks hamburger! I actually just jumped back on here to say I got it going, that's when I saw your reply :-) I was cursing the 'lil fella for a long time until I was you first comment about openelec or libreelec, that got me started.

I started with OpenElec on a MicroSD (v6.95.3.2) then it found updates so I let it install them up to 7.0.2.005. Turns out, during this process it got installed onto the internal memory… Lucky for me, it all works great!

The only tricky bit was to let it boot into Android, then hold the reset button with a paperclip, then reboot, still holding the reset. It would not boot from the MicroSD until that process was followed.

Getting rid of Android fixed the sound and so far it plays 10bit hvec flawlessly (from the H.265 test files found about the net). Also had codes already at Logitech to use on the Harmony Smart Remote. This lil beast is now my favourite player!

@Mossy: too bad KAT is gone, 10bit HEVC is light on the ground now adays but they had heaps

        • +1

@Mossy: Glad to hear! :) The reset button is indeed the trickiest bit - on the box I have it's at the bottom of the AV port and hitting it at the right time took some practice. I'm surprised at how well these little things play HEVC. I tried 4k and it seemed alright although it only has a 100mbit network port which couldn't stream the file fast enough!

        • +1

@hambuger: umm. I have this box, the very first revision, mine has gigabit Ethernet, I transferred files to it via external HDD over network and got 400mbit which I think I guess is limitation of the usb port.

        • I'm with Jonathon, I thought it had gigabit. I don't know how much I will use it for 10bit anyway, but it's there if I need it I suppose. Happy watching!

  • I purchased this…http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/391529842854 yesterday. I have been using Android sticks for many years, ug802 and UM2. Was tossing up whether to try something like a X96 box and came across some 'Fully Loaded' versions.

Can't wait for it to arrive and give that a try. Express Post from NSW : )
