At least for android I know you can download the RoidmiDriver app to change the frequency.

Yep just pair your phone to the device and any audio from your phone will come through the device.

I use google play music and it streams fine.

I purchased this a little while back and it has pretty good audio compared to others I have purchased in the past. Good Value for money.
