  • Oh and a pack of 2 microfiber mop pads:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bissell-BS3961-Replacement-Mo…
The actual mop comes with that pack but better to get some extra pads :)

    • I was using the Bissell Lift-Off Steam Mop on my last sharehouse ( it's the owners' ) and now that we moved houses I don't think I can go back to normal non-steam mops…

How does this one stack against the Lift-Off Steam Mop? The one thing I notice that's different is that the Lift-Off variety can be detached from the handle and used separately to steam clean other things (e.g. kitchen sinks etc ) - but is that the only difference?

Don't have this model, got one as a freebie with a vacuum cleaner.

They're pretty good for light cleaning tasks but I still use mop and bucket because I like "wet mopping".

  • +2

I've been doing quite a bit of reading on steam mops as we've just moved to a place that has a number of tiled rooms. Steam mops seem to disappoint most people. The newer micro fibre spin mops seem to do a much better job and are cheaper. Obviously steam mops are good if you really can be bothered cleaning properly.

If you do a bit of searching there are some group reviews where they showed that over 80% on test didn't produce steam hot enough to kill germs.

    • Could you please share which spin mop do you recommend and where to buy from?

      • @smerch I was going to buy the Vileda Spin Mop and bucket which is normally $49 at woolworths but you can get it a bit cheaper on ebay. It get amazing reviews. However I went for a brand called Dr Fussy. Their top model (which includes 5 heads) is $59 before delivery on crazy sales but I found it for $55 including deliver on ebay. Use the 10% off everything code and it's less than $50. The item number on ebay is 391292714557 from a seller called oz-bargain.

Below is for show but use ebay if you're buying it.

  • Also found this but not sure about the quality:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Kogan-Steam-Mop-5-1-200-x-246…
    $55 or $44 after code.
