  • Kind of want this but some of the reviews on Reddit are concerning.

  • reviews are concerning - would probably try it out if catch goes 80% off lol

Had the original version of the CrossWave and loved it - aside from the fact it never gets close enough to the skirting boards.

Pitty that so many years on, the same design flaw exists.

  • If only it was cordless

  • These are bad. Had one. Stay away.

  • Had one for years - no problems. It's not something you use every week. You might use it in conjuction with a robot vac/mop with the robot doing it's vacuum and smear every week or whatever and then you break out the Bissell every month or so do give a real wet mop.

  • +1

    Lucky I checked productreview website:

“Waste of moneyCrap and not worth the money. Does a p*ss poor job at vacuuming. Can't get in along the skirting boards, you need to use a broom to get the crap up off the floor, which just voids the need for a vacuume in the first place. The mop function saves some time while you're there vacuuming for sure, but then it takes 2 days to clean the bloody thing after every single use. If you don't clean it every time, the fabric brush inside the vacuumed starts smelling moldy and moist, which will take over your entire house. It leaks dirty water all over my floors afterwards too, so you end up having to clean the floors twice. Absolute waste of money.

  • I have this it's pretty heavy and loud, I like the steam mop function but at the same time pretty unwieldy to use

    • Might be thinking of another product. This isn't a steam mop and it doesn't heat the water.

  • Yikes, I bought one and am now worried!

I just bought one too and plan to use it to do a couple of carpeted bedrooms and hallway in a brand new house I'll be moving into later this year. I'm pretty fastidious with maintaining things, especially the robo vac, so not concerned about smells etc and look to use this one a month to keep the carpets fresh. For $164.50, worth a shot.

      • What about the negative reviews on the good guys website about it leaking dirty water everywhere? One person had to get her carpets professionally cleaned after the staining

      • You'll regret it. It's not for carpets. The suction and the roller just ain't made for it……I dumped both my Bissell crosswave and the max ver after borrowing my mates tineco lineup.

        • Did you use the crosswave on hard floors at all? If you did, how did you find it?

          • @l-ozza: Yes, and I can confidently say that Tineco is much more efficient at cleaning floors due to its brush design and superior surface contact. The Bissell CrossWave brushes don’t make enough contact with the floor because they sit too high. I've given them plenty of feedback to improve this—an adjustable height feature would be a great innovation for any manufacturer. Unfortunately, Bissell isn’t a forward-thinking company that truly listens to its users, which results in inherently flawed product revisions. As a result, with the CrossWave, you have to go over dirty areas multiple times to get them clean.

            • @id: Thanks for the info. I was thinking of trying to cancel the order but it has finally shipped unfortunately.

              • +1

@l-ozza: who knows.. it might work out for you depending on the type of floor and carpet (ones that are firmer). at least you got it for less than half price.

I've got one, had it for years. It's pretty great, much better than mopping. It's not really an "everyday" thing, but it's good for cleaning really bad messes as well as a replacement for mopping. As the reviews say though, be prepared to clean it out every time you use it. This may take about 3-5 minutes.

Would highly recommend this, especially at this insanely good price.

      • Do you have this model (2225F) op has posted?
All the reviews are bad like leaking dirty water onto carpet. Should check out the negative comments on the good guys website

I have the 2223H model. I think they're very similar. No issues with leaks other than the one time I ran it without the filter. I did break the latch on the cover though, seems to work still. Overall I really like mine. I use it for deep cleans once every few months and it's great for large messes. Used it a lot more when kids would regularly drop cereal and the like on the floor, mixed solid / wet messes are a pain to clean up I found otherwise.

I've had a friend who bought it after trying my one, she also absolutely loves it. She uses it from a pet perspective.

Makes you realise just how disgusting mopping is and also how much more you collect from mopping than just straight vacuuming. You do need to go in with fair expectations. For example the need to break it down and clean it after use, it can't get right against the wall (but you wouldn't be mopping there often anyway), it won't scrub your grout white, and it's not as good a vacuum as an actual vacuum. It's not intended for carpets but does a passable job on them when I've used it to spot clean.

  • I've borrowed a friend's one to wash the carpets. Works very well. Its noisy and heavy and uses a lot of the cleaning solution but much better than trying to hire a machine. This is really for the irregular carpet washing/shampoo, not a regular vacuum.

    • +1

I highly doubt it's the same machine.

    • sounds more like you borrowed a Bissel Carpet cleaner product (which works well) NOT the above… you'd be leaving all that solution drenched on the carpet using the product above, as it doesn't have the same extraction power on carpets. It wasn't designed for it.

    • @gjk can you confirm if the same machine or not? As I'm looking to use this specifically on low pile carpet. Thanks for any advice.

      • +1

Friends one was definately made for carpet. This one might be different.
