Breville Oracle $1999 at Good Guys (In-store only!) down to $1599.20 with COFFEE20 Coupon

150
COFFEE20

I went to Good Guys yesterday and saw the Oracle is still $1999 in store!!! And still also 20% off with that voucher if you print it out! Price and coupon expires today

Best price in a while. I've been hanging for this since May when I missed out on the last deal. Yesterday Good Guys had it at $2299 online, on ebay and in store.
Today its dropped to $1999 (also on ebay). Funny as I asked them yesterday (on the ebay store) if they would match 1999 and they said no!
So works out cheaper to buy from them direct (rather than 15% off on ebay) and use the COFFEE20 coupon. Supposedly you can bring the print out to the store too

I'm guessing it can be stacked with the $25 credit when you sign up for newsletter but on signing I saw that you only receive the coupon on the 2nd and 5th week after signing up. So some of you might be lucky enough to take advantage of this too

  • Also Breville The Barista Espresso Cofee Machine BES870 $559.20

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/breville-the-barista-espresso…

    • I know someone with that machine (870) and the steam was pathetic. Couldn't even produce enough to do one container without running out of puff. Could be that it was faulty, but I was not impressed.

      • I had the BES860 which is the older one of these. It could definitely steam milk fine. I found the Sunbeam Twin Thermoblock (similar price point) much better though. The BES900/920 which I have now is even better - this is the best coffee machine under $1000 IMO.

        • Yes, if you're going to spend over $400 you're better off saving to get around $1000 and get the Breville 920 - great machine and makes a café quality coffee.

How is the oracle better than a dual boiler + smart grinder setup? I'm not convinced - aside from the saving of benchtop realestate - what happens if the grinder breaks, or you decide to get a better grinder?

    • to reply myself, i've looked it up and apparently the oracle does the grinding AND the tamping too, so for the coffee snob not interested in process, but wanting a consistent, great outcome, that's where it comes in.

      • I have an Oracle (insert Gruen like holy sound for the presumptuously silly name) and yes it tamps (though that occasionally is temperamental on mine - sometimes comes out lumpy). Also auto steams the milk to a preset temperature and foaminess (from Latte to Cappuccino). You can adjust everything and that is where the 'skill' is. It is a lot easier once you know how to drive it.

If buying again I would seriously consider the 920 (given how much cheaper it is) - although it is more manual, once you've got the hang of the technique it would make as good a cup as the 980.

You totally missed your chance to say tampermental :p Get it? OK I'm done.

          @alexme: Good one DAD!

    • I honestly don't think it is. You can make better coffee with the dual boiler if you're willing to put in the time to learn how to use it properly, plus it's a thousand dollars cheaper.

  • where is the section you add the coupon code on the good guys website?

Does it have a headphone jack?

lol the next version will exclude the portafilter…as the coffee will be beamed by a proprietary wireless system straight into the cup! Of course only their own special beans will be able to be used.

  • I just bought a BES870 today, really really cool(First time user)

doesn't get warm at all??? :(

  • The Oracle has disappeared with the Double Boiler and Grinder.

  • How does this compare to the Delonghi fully automatic machines? Pardon my igonrance.

    • my dad has the delonghi primadonna s range from a couple years back..the coffee quality whilst adequate for non- fussy coffee consumer does not equal to a proper espresso unfortunately, even when the machine is set at max coffee brew strength

      • Really?! The primadonna S is the model i'm thinking about buying…

        • yeah, i think it depends what you're really after though ie. taste vs convenience. for cafe quality taste, nothing beats a proper espresso machine but automatic machine can generally do a decent cup of milk coffee quicker

  • Deal is still active. Expires today. In-store only! Remember to print that voucher!

    • Is there an actual voucher to print or just print out the 'sweet deals' page?

      • just the sweet deals page….when u print each voucher ends up on its own page
