Looking for a new fridge and this seems a pretty good deal for a French door fridge. Feedback would be appreciated.

Good deal. Unfortunately for me, there's only one french door fridge that will fit in my recess (Electrolux EHE5167SB) and the only eBay retailer that sells it is Bing Lee, who aren't in WA.
This listing (282139324404) has been removed, or this item isn't available.
This is an incredible price for a really excellent fridge. We bought exactly the same for around $1600 THREE YEARS AGO and we've been very happy with it. The fan coil unit in the back of the cabinet failed after about two years (commom fault) and Samsung replaced it on site and under warranty, no problems otherwise. My only other comment would be that this is quite a small fridge and for more than two people it might be a squeeze .. :-) .. !!
Important spec, to see if it will fit in your kitchen: 1798 mm (high) x 817 mm (width) x 775 mm (depth incl front handles)
We have a similar model but with the icemaker, 5yo & no problems. Would have liked the water plumbed but not available in the smaller models
What's the attraction of having to open two doors instead of one?
Only upside I can see is that it's more desirable if you have limited space for opening doors.
snob factor I reckon haha
I have this fridge, it's been brilliant and looks incredible in our kitchen. Had it now for about 2.5 years and only ever had one issue, which was a known issue, water did not drain through the (internal) drain hole as the wire was not melting the ice that would form around the drain hole, so we would get quite a build up of water in the bottom two vegetable/fruit trays. Called Samsung, they were great, came out that very week, looked at our receipt of purchase and fixed it straight away, no cost, under warranty. We had the fridge about a year before this problem occurred. After the fix it's now perfect. So if you are buying this fridge I'd be checking to see if it has the upgraded parts fitted which addressed this issue, otherwise you could get the issue.
Great price on the deal too. I think we paid about $1,700.
I hope someone can tell the exact height of this fridge ?
Varies from 1770 to 1780 to 1798 on various websites. Need to confirm if it will fit.
Thank you.Just reading reviews and it seems like a lot of these fridges self destruct around 2-3 years after you buy them. Apparently start filling full of water.
No they don't. The issue is as I've described above.
Reviews are saying its an ongoing problem that keeps coming back and once the warranty is over your out of luck.
Apparently the fix for existing models doesn't keep working. Please link to these reviews, otherwise just heresay.
@Reality: pretty simple Google for the model number. Take it anyway you want.
We have been using it since 2012 and so far got no issues at all. We don't have water connection to the fridge hole, so it's not connected to the water line. Hence I don't really know if our one has any issues with water dispensing.
Having said tat, a simple fix to this common problem (if you're out of warranty) is to turn off water connection to auto ice-cube maker and use the traditional ice-trays instead.
@unifex: No, this is your declaration, you made the statement. I don't want to see a couple of people with some issue of the bottom of their fridge filling up with water, which in any regard is a total exaggeration. I have had the problem and it is about 200-300ml overflow in about a month. Hardly a concern as you just dump the contents out. The solution is a simple fix for authorised personnel. You've also said that people have the fix and this does not work. This is totally and utterly wrong in my experience so please show me links to those people who says this. And show that this is some sort of sizeable issue other than farmer joe in Wagga Wagga and Mary in Freo who had the fix and it still happened. You also said "self destruct", what does this mean? I eagerly await your evidence.
I should add I googled this model before I bought the fridge as anyone should do and found nothing like "self destruct" in anyones comments, nor any issue with "filling with water" other than the issue of some small amounts of water welling at the bottom of the fresh food trays.
@ar993: Not about water dispensing, as the dispenser is hand fill. This is about the drainage hole inside the fridge, in the food compartment that is supposed to get rid of condensation and ice build up.
@Reality: The reviews I found said that they had so much water the bottom trays would freeze close and that they had it repaired by Samsung and that the fault kept reoccurring until the warranty ran out then samsung refused to repair.
I don't really care that much I saw this bargain thought way that looked like a good price and went googling for reviews. most reviews i read were negative and a lot of them revolved around the water problem that you had as well. But many of them said that the problem was fixed just delayed.
So I returned here and mentioned what I read. You have the fridge and it "currently" works for you. Thats super glad for you and I hope it continues to run well for you. It has to be better than the LG piece of junk I have.
@unifex: Still waiting on all of these reviews. When I read the reviews there was the occasional report of the water welling, as I've described happened to me. I did not see one single report of the fix being implemented then reoccurring. Can you link to these many reviews please?
And in Australia we have "fair use" rights which will override limited warranty by manufacturers. You could be reading reviews from any country around the world, which has different warranty policies.
@Reality: Oh ok… fortunately it hasn't happened to our one in last four years
@Reality: True I believe they were on product review.
As to going and doing other peoples homework for them its up to them. They can either believe it or not believe it Im not going to go. I reported what the general comments i read were as i read around the reviews on various websites I'm not going to waste my time trawling through sites again just so I can post links up here. Which in all likelihood you will dismiss anyway as your clearly a fan of the fridge (which is also a valid position to take). I actually was considering buying this fridge (i also saw it in costco and this price is awesome) so I wasn't reading reviews as some form of reseach project for ozbargain i was doing it with a view of buying the fridge.
I posted the original message because that was the opinion I formed from the reviews I read. I posted it here so that other people would know what to look for and they can do their own search and form their own opinions. I have no obligation to justify my position to you or to anyone else. I could have said nothing at all and people would have less information to form their own opinion on. It seems that reasonable that I post my view so that other people can use it as they want.
@unifex: That's fine but using language like "self destruct" and "filling full of water" is just hyperbole and appears to be trying to put people off buying this fridge for some reason, rather than actually helping them make an informed choice. The issue is small, as I've described, and can be fixed under warranty with no more issues. The issue does not come back after the fix is applied. If you are handy you can even buy the part yourself and replace it.
As always though, if you're going to make claims you can at least back them up with some evidence so people can weigh up this so called evidence and make that informed choice.
I just love the way you write ..😜
Does Samsung guarantee that this model fridge won't catch on fire????
… it won't, if you don't use it as a washing machine.
You'll be fine, just don't put your note 7 in it.
I need something bellow 175cm due to kitchen cupboards… so hard finding anything decent and over 600L with that limitation! Found one side-by-side model but it's nearly 4000… might as well get a new kitchen
Have you looked at this Mitsubishi L4 Mini? Good review, 170cm height, 650L.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-650L-French-Door-Fridg…
Note: it has 5 year warranty both part and labour, not like LG or SS only parts from 3rd year.
Hmmmm that's not bad at all… 3 stars too! My current set uses a TON of electricity. Thanks for that, on the watch list so I can further discuss it with the minister of finances and war
Did you buy one? I just bought one.
Man… I'm LITERALLY trying to buy a fridge as we speak but from appliance the online shop on ebay and it doesn't work. BASTARDS!! Also, there's now rumor of a 20% off on the Bing Lee shop on ebay. Decisions, decisions!!
Great deal. But Out of curiosity, what do you fill in that jumbo fridge if you only have nucleus family?
533L isn't terribly large IMO. Certainly small for family with 2 kids.
We have been using it for over 4 years and so far got no issues at all. We really like the brushed metal look and it doesn't show hand-marks as well.
We don't have water connection av to the fridge space, so it's never been connected to the water line. Hence I don't really know if our one has any issues with water dispensing (which seems like a common problem with this model).
thanks op - fridge died last night & this one is being delivered this afternoon!
Your lucky cause they are now all gone.
You need to add CODE15 to description. I'm assuming that's how you get that price.
This is a decent price through eBay with the code, compared to $1694 at JB HiFi.
