Looking for a smallish washing machine and found this deal. Being a bloke I have no clue about these things but I thought Bosch was a quality product.

How's she cuttin' now?
Good Guys $648
Add $69 for delivery and uplift of old washer
+1 on delivery and removal of old washer. They also unpack the new one, install it and remove the rubbish.
Uplift?
It means they lift it up and it suddenly ascends into washing machine heaven, where other whitewoods and kitchen appliances sit around sharing stories about their former lives. Like the time Betty forgot to turn the oven off, turning her famous key lime pie into a crisp black rock. I tried alerting her but she too busy bumping uglies with Mr Betty.
Same price at TGG
Have been looking for some washing machine bargains too. I did a google search for this model.
I found these prices:
$693 @ JB HIFI https://www.jbhifi.com.au/whitegoods-appliances/laundry/bosc…
$648 @ Harvey Norman https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/bosch-7kg-front-load-washer-w…
$626.40 @ Masters https://www.masters.com.au/product/101732948/bosch-front-loa…
So it would seem the appliances online price is perhaps pretty standard?
My bargain search continues! :)
Remember to factor in delivery and uplift of the old washer, which appliances online include
Call the scarp metal guy in your area, would normally remove it for ya free of charge
Still have to pay for delivery of new washing machine
@Micoa: Appliances Online will also unpack and install the new one, plus take away the packaging material.
Masters is Out of Stock and Out of Business. The rest I agree with.
Out of Order.
Would consider this but my Bosch front loader from 12 years ago is still going stronk!
And other than the LCD, it looks almost identical to this model.
Naughties were a good year for manufacture. My TV (Hitachi), washer (Bosch) & Amp (Marantz) simply refuse to die!
The good old days.
That was before manyfactures realised that building good quality products that dont die actually hurt their future sales. So now they design products to fail a few months out of warranty.
Planned obsolescence has been a thing for a lot longer than that!
@Rupture: Almost as long as the light bulb in fact.
Bosch is a good choice for a 40 year old bloke Dave. I wouldn't buy a beko again, and once ours carks it we'll be looking for a bosch.
What's wrong with the Beko?
first 2 returned within 6 months with fault. 3rd one requires a door slam to kick the start mechanism in. works fine and YMMV, but it would have been nice with less hassle.
I am actually thinking this is no bargain and should actually wait for one😞
This is clearly no bargain. Plenty of similar prices around. Why all the up votes? Am I on ozbargain ??

OzProductReview? :)
Great Machine … I've had one since 2011 and it's never missed a beat. Following are what I consider make it a great machine: it has a decent "short cycle" approx 50 mins, it has up to 1100 rpm spin, I can add water through the soap compartment - sometimes I want a wetter mix or perhaps add some hot water from the tap if I anticipate stubborn stains.
50mins for a short cycle? Seems kinda long but I have always used top loaders and not familiar with front loaders. Out of curiosity how long does a normal cycle take?
That does sound long. My bosch front-loader standard cold wash is 44 mins, the short cycle is 11 mins but I can't comment on how well it cleans in 11 mins.
I have an earlier model bought in 2009. Very robust, no problems and I'm very happy with it. I wouldn't buy anything else.
Does Masters still offer the 10% price beat guarantee?
If so check if Masters has stock.Masters 10% excludes appliances unfortunately
You're rigt but they do price match.
Note: There are two types of Bosch.
The deal shown is Bosch made in Thailand. They are built to a price.
Premium Bosch consumer are made in Germany and start at about $2k. they are excellent machines
I had a similar 7kg machine which failed after 4 years due to a blown resistor on a printed circuit board. Tried Bosch for warranty under my statutory rights and they agreed to replace the part providing I paid for labour (estimated $250).
At this point I realised that I'd taken out extended 5 yr warranty with the retailer. They came and assessed the machine and said it also needed a main drive motor. They gave me a credit note to the value of the original purchase. I was going to buy another brand (LG IIRC) but they were out of stock. I got an 8kg Bosch but it cost me another $250 including another extended warranty. It was all they had in stock that could be delivered immediately (we'd been without a washing machine for 6 weeks by this point).
I'm not saying don't buy Bosch asian made but don't think you are getting any better than LG or similar priced asian made washing machines.
LG washing machines are very reliable.
I had a front loader for 10 years with no issues.you can get german made ones for $1k now..
I actually picked up this unit for $871

its interesting, ive always bought my whitegoods second-hand, there's just way too much margin in them when new.
picked up a beast 9.5kg bosch front loader washer on gumtree last year for $100 (helped that i owned a trailer, this thing was an ABSOLUTE BEHEMOTH), and it has washed clothes better than anything ive ever used (including my mum's more expensive and more modern bosch front loader).
i left it with my housemates in adelaide when i moved as it was just going to be too much effort to ever move it again.
prior to that i paid $50 for a whirlpool front loader on gumtree which worked like a champ for nearly a year and then the motor died. ended up putting it out with hard rubbish :)
Huge fan of Gumtree second hand purchases here too, after doing it for many years, but all it takes is one $250 Bosch washing machine to die within a few weeks of buying it and you have close to zero chance of any retribution. In my case, even if the guy answered my calls or texts, am I really in a position to get my money back given I had had it for a few weeks. The model was a few years old but out of the two year warranty period.
its the risk you take. if my $100 one died in a week i wouldnt cry about it, id put it in hard rubbish then go hunting for another one. :)
$250 is definitely getting closer to the realm of being better off buying a cheap baumatic or haier washer so you at least have a warranty. but then it depends on your risk profile. if you had to buy two $250 washers to get one working one, and still pay less than a new one, youre still ahead…
But.. but.. the new Samsung has a DOOR inside the DOOR!
Bosch is a good brand but nothing special about this machine. Check the reviews here.
http://www.productreview.com.au/p/bosch-wae22464au.htmlPretty bad reviews, majority are 1 star
I bought a cheap Euromaid washing machine from Appliances Online about four years ago and never had a problem with it, still going strong. It was free delivery, install and took away my old broken down one free too but not sure if they still do it or not.
I recently saw a big air balloon thing with the AO logo on it at Parafield Airport so they must be doing alright.
Is the Airship still around? I saw it last week for the whole week around the city.
how's the review ???
