I also could not enrol and with the same errors as stated by oz-dave. Could be targeted??

  • Yeah HP with zero support for consumers in Australia. If you want to get your laptop serviced you have to ship it to singapore because they closed down all their local servicing arrangements a few months ago. Apparently it has to go through their singapore service agent now. If you want a quote on repair you have to ship it to them get the quote have it shipped back agree to the quote then ship it back to them again to get it done.

Not worth the hassle. I'd support a brand that at the very least supports the customers in the country.

    • If you want to get your laptop serviced

You don't need to get your laptop serviced (its not like a car).

      • I think unifex means servicing in the context of sending the laptop away for repair if it fails under warranty, not like servicing a laptop like a car (although you should really clean the dust from the fans every now and then).

In any case, if it is true, it wouldn't surprise me if sending things to Singapore is the case now. HP "support" is an awful joke at best and downright incompetent and dangerous at worst.

My most recent experience involved chasing them for a literal month to get them to send a tech to confirm the diagnosis that they'd made via the phone of a Laserjet printer - they knew what the problem was, I could see them chattering away amongst themselves in SCM, apparently arranging a tech was beyond their capabilities.

It involved bizarre emails ("we are sorry, but you have reached the warranty department" - yeah, I'm sorry too), them not calling when promised, calling when I told them not to call, failing to actually send a tech when I did finally manage to get through to someone, and in the end to get them to send the tech onsite I had to make a complaint about a complaint about a complaint. Even then, the tech they sent didn't seem to have much of a clue what was going on, took the printer away for two weeks after which they gave up and said "screw it, here's a replacement".

Honestly, after the numerous "support" experiences I've had from HP, I wouldn't even recommend them to someone I truly, utterly, detest as a sick joke because nobody deserves that level of incompetence.

      • Ugh service as in get service for the laptop.
Eg warranty or out of warranty repairs.

  • I just bought a laptop last week, is there anything that I can do to get this offer.
Any advice or expereince would be appreicated in this matter.
    Cheers

    • Just buy another and return one

      • Wouldn't I have to provide some reason for return?

        • Nah - website says something about a 14/30 day satisfaction guarantee.

Seems like you could stack this with a few other discounts:
    - UniDays HP Student pricing
    - Price Match
    - Cashback offers

Just need to find a good deal now…

  • Can one use multiple Amex cards and get credit?
    Has anyone tried this before?

Will try it tomorrow and report back … normally depends on the vendor. It works for some and not for others.

      • Salesperson on the phone said they can't split payments.

        I didn't ask about giftcards/store credit.

They refused to price match the lenovo thinkpad 13 deal … will try again if I see another good deal on their website.
