Sure is a bargain savas, woolies had then for $2 last week, these are leftovers because everybody bought the Caramite flavour.

    • +1

Caramite back in store for $2 ends 6/12

      • +1

Haha thank you. Had the Caramite last night, was good!

  • +3

Nuts about you .. Great for a first date .. Maybe you get lucky after desert

    • +1

      But i wanted ice-cream before dessert :(

      • Sand gets a bit gritty though.

        • I'm pretty sure you're supposed to eat the cake and not the sand though…

  • +4

Third week in a row at this price. Wondering if they are clearing them out all together as I noticed a ton of new lines over the last week or so.

  • Hmm carry over from this catalogue. Judging by the freezers in the local stores, these are getting cleared out, not sure if getting replaced

  • +3

Better than the ones from Coles. Love the breakfast icecream with chunks of maple bacon.

  • +1

this ice cream is pants. had a sickly chemical taste hat wouldnt leave. id recommend a pass on these fake in stroe premium brands

    • +2

Yep, you must have got "chemical cranberry".

    • +1

The apple crumble tastes of apple crumble. Then morphs into bannana like magic rofl, not unpleasant just strange lol

    • -2

Why is shroomish getting downvoted here when other people saying the ice cream isn't very good are getting upvoted?!

  • +4

Can I pay for this using my NZ spare change? Sorry I just got here after reading this haha :)

  • +5

I wasn't a fan of the apple one. It tastes like apple flavouring, rather than being actual apple flavoured. If you get what I mean.

  • +1

Nuts about you is fantastic, better than some very expensive ice creams i've tried, highly recommended at this price.

  • i tried all the coles versions of these, didnt like even one of those. assumed the woolies ones would be the same?

    • +2

I can confirm the coles ones are crap in comparison. I had the banana one, it smelled of acetone and the 'chunks' of chocolate were more like little particles.

    • Coles Peanut Butter ice cream is amazing and the Hazel Nut one is ok but every other one I've tried has been disappoint.

The Woolies ones are much worse, regardless of the flavours the ice cream itself is just terrible.

    • The Smokey Maple with Pecan and the Licorice All Sorts at Coles are delicious IMO.

  • +7

This probably won't go down too well but I'll say it. This is the worst ice cream I've ever had. I've tried the nuts about you one and it had the consistency of a paddle pop and was just plain boring, and I've also had the caramel popcorn and whilst not as bad as the nuts about you one the texture still wasn't good and once again it was just boring and difficult to eat.

I generally hold Bulla creamy classics as a good baseline, and compared to creamy classics it's absolutely shocking.

    • +2

      I like paddle pops.

    • +3

looks like you are reaping the positive votes so far for this risky opinion :p

but yeah, there is ice cream, then there is 90% of the stuff you find in super markets today which is some weird water, milk and air filled crap. kudos to anyone that buys and enjoys this stuff but you really gotta try Connoisseur the next time it is half price and it will probably blow your freaking mind.

I'm not an ice cream elitist basing my opinion solely on price point either. I think the expensive Sara Lee stuff is crrrrrrraaap too. Have yet to catch a deal on the Ben and Jerry's stuff so I can't comment on that.

      • +1

Sara Lee is pretty crap :P It goes rock hard for whatever reason. I miss the small Connoisseur tubs, the French vanilla and Armagnac one was possibly the best ice cream I've ever had. Baileys ice cream is pretty close though.

        • I miss the ice cream from like 15 years ago. Nuts About Chocolate - was great. It came in a large version of the kind of containers these Woolworths once OP posted use but with a plastic top if I remember correctly. The Connoisseur which was chocolate flavour, chocolate flakes and with some sorta dark berry flavour swirl. And I think there was an earlier Connoisseur (or at least it was of the cylindrical container style) which was vanilla ice cream..again chocolate flakes, and then a caramel swirl.

          Simpler times, better times

        • @hetzjagd: I miss Signature Range Jelly Choc Chip. The best ice cream for $4 for 2L.

        • @hetzjagd:
I used to like dessert whip…. Kind of like a delicious creamy cream, ice cream.
          Haven't had that for years

  • Even my dog vomitted after eating this chemically synthesized ice cream. No winder they are clearing this line.

    • +12

i dont think dogs are supposed to eat ice cream in general

      • -1

Are they alergic to milk cream and sugar? Don't think so unless Woolies have packed that shit full of nasties.

        • +6

Basically, Yes! A lot of dogs are Lactose intolerant and they aren't equipped to deal with high insulin responses to sugar. Worst of all if it contains xylitol it can kill them. Never let a dog eat lollies, Chewies, toothpaste etc and probably this ice cream. Probably lucky ole woofa threw it up.

        • +1

@tunzafun001: well said. Please be careful what you feed your dogs..

        • best just to feed your dog actual food intended for dogs. if you want to give them a treat there's no shortage of commercial products dogs love. keep an eye out for a Petbarn or Petstock deal on here. plenty of alternatives but yeah, no sugar, no dairy…a good rule of thumb is if you would eat it - your doggo shouldn't

        • +1

          @tunzafun001:

I'm lactose intolerant but still Ice-cream. Haven't died yet

  • +1

    any good?

    • Yeah!

      • +1

Im willing to try now the weather has warmed up.

  • +3

the Creme Brulee one is really nice. Not enjoying the apple one as much. (also need to double check the price at the register. a few weeks ago they tried to charge me full price)

    • +3

If label says half price and they try to charge full price, you get it for free.

    • +2

Yeah same. I got one tub for free.

    • +1

Ooooh there is creme brûlée. Gotta try it now

      • +1

Don't, it tastes NOTHING like it.

        • +1

I see. So what does it taste like?

        • +1

          @Jared17:

Some horrid sweet mix that is nothing even close in resembling crème brulee..

  • -1

If overcharged I was told only the first one is free, if you buy 3 then the other 2 are just refunded… shame…

  • +1

Nuts About You Icecream - no longer displayed at online store. Does that mean it has run out?

    • Good question, that's weird. Sorry

      • +1

Bummer … that is the one I wanted to try :-(

        • +1

Btw the nuts about you flavour is there again

        • @Savas: Oh, great. Thanks for the heads-up. Cheers.

Edit: I can't see it. Not even when I do my own search. Or perhaps they are geographically-sensitive? And list what is available where you are. I am in VIC. I noted you are in NSW.

        • +1

@bluesky: Nope not showing do me either. Maybe best to go in store. I just bought Nuts About You one hour ago at my local where they had lots (no half price tag but scanned at half price).

          Good luck and sorry

        • +1

@Savas: OK, thanks for the info, I will check in-store. Cheers.

Popcorn - I previously bought it without looking at the full description on the package, thought the tiny black specs were vanilla seeds.

Turns out they were pepper and it actually as awful as it sounds.

    • +1

Who puts pepper on their popcorn to start with?

  • why Is it all sweet flavours and 2 of 3 caramel! where is the choc or pb or something?!

  • Are there any ice creams in the supermarkets that are actually ice cream? Even the expensive ones are generally not made from cream and milk and egg yolks etc., like it should be.

  • This isn't worth $1. Horrible tasting stuff. All the Woolies ice-creams are terrible.

  • bought one taste like SXXX kid u not
