I'd hate myself if I collected these things and was a completionist. There is like a million of them

I can't even imagine that being possible o.o I just collect from series I like!

      • +3

Some poor soul out there would collect them all hoping to cash in

The "value" on some of them are insane, but they will be just like Beanie Babies I'd imagine

        • They can't be that poor if they are buying them all, lol :P

        • any website that we can reference the value/prediction?

        • +1

I collect Pop Vinyls, and whilst a beanie babies situation is possible, the one big difference is that these are based on licenses.

A new popular TV show comes out (e.g. Stranger Things), Funko gets the license and releases pops, they sell like hot cakes.

          @tae:

          http://www.poppriceguide.com/

Prices are in USD, though most pop collectors go off of this website. Keep in mind that there are quite a few pops that are worth more in Australia than in the U.S., such as pops that were never officially released over here.

        • @tae: No because it's cheap tat ;)

If you want to collect something that has value coins are a good investment.

@Diji1: but they don't have real value coin with Darth Vader head circulating yet. :-)

    • They don't even look that good, tbh. Cute enough for me to get the Mulder + Scully ones tho, just b/c.

Some people buy this cheap tat instead of saving for a house or income producing investments.

    • I was in Zing the other day and saw a pretty chunky book that has the various pop vinnyl figures in it. That book was volume 3.

You're right, it's nuts how many there are, including variants. They're so diverse though that I doubt ver many people want all figures from all collections.

I own three or four for things I'm interested in, but there's far better quality figures out there so if a theme interests me Pop Vinnyls probably not what I'd collect around it.

  • $9.96 plus $3.50 shipping, no?

    • Depends how many you buy, I bought 5 (one was with a car) and shipping was $10.50 online.

  • Resistance is strong with me.

Id need to move to a bigger place if I begun to collect these.

These are usually 12-13, so after shipping it's not really a half-price sale

    • RRP looks to be $19 at least on newer ones.

      • True ozbargainers know never to trust the RRP, whatever guys, if you think you're buying a bargain, go ahead and make the purchase.

    • The RRP for Pop Vinyls is $18.99. It was $16.99 at the beginning of last year, when I started collecting them.

    • These are usually 12-13

I, and pretty much everyone who is looking at this deal, would love to know how you actually purchased POP! vinyls for $12-13.
Please post a deal soon as I do intend to get vinyls, and $12-13 is a great price (especially for vinyls not on promotion @ Zing).
From what I know, most places sell these at RRP.

      • From what I know, most places sell these at RRP.

When I started to notice them filling the shelves early last year, the RRP were $17. The only ones that are/were cheap are the less-popular ones that sold for $12-13 and would hardly get any advertisement on them.

  • Kids love there. I'll have to grab a few. Th a is OP.

  • am I the only one who hates these things. It makes me sad when people make these instead of things which actually look like the characters.

    • These could be 10cents and I still woudlnt buy one. I grew up in the era of bad action figures that got a little better every year. But these things just look weird to me. They are constantly on sale somewhere on earth so I assume stores have trouble pushing them out the door.

      • Should check out company like "Hot Toys" and "Sideshow", they do really good action figures in 1/6 scale. They try to be as movie accurate as possible. Personally i collect 1/6 figures, i do have a few Funko lying around :D.

Yeah. Those toys are a bit out of my budget. But they are probably the best you can buy. Amazing stuff especially the iron man armours.

I think these are cute, although some are on the freaky side… Managed to add Black Widow and Agent Carter to my collection. Been after the big Baymax pop, can't find stock anywhere.
