  • Has anyone ever had any luck with indoor antennas and DVB-T cards I sure havent, I have tried a few with rather poor results and I have line of sight

    • dvb-t usb dongle here not card. i have the cheap $20ish dollar wandtv one. what I did was use my dick smith amplified antenna when tuning in the channels coz the included antenna is just crap. once the stations were tuned in, i put the supplied antenna in, slapped it on a metallic base (antenna has magnet on bottom) and it worked a treat.

    • I'm using the same antenna, and it's working fine for me. It all depends on where you live. I place mine on top of my bookcase in the study, as I could not be bothered running another cable from the room antenna to that room.

      • I think my problem is the steel frame double brick townhouse its working like a Faraday cage, I have problem with getting wifi though walls and phone reception too

  • Had my first bit of luck with an indoor antenna with from woolworths of all places, here is a link to the antenna from the manufacturer

    http://www.antennawarehouse.com.au/shop/product_info.php?cPa…

the price on their site is 36.99 , but woolies had it for 29.99
comes with a power plug option which i am not even using.

I get all the channels instead of some, i am not saying this is te best antenna but it worked for me, and i have been searching for one that works for a while

  • So anyone had any experience with this antenna (or very similar)?

Is it going to work (for in the city / suburbs) of major cities?

    Thanks,
    Ashley.

  • +1

    • good find! hahaha
offer start 100K —> is it really that expensive to start your own business ??

      • No way should be more like 1k for the 11 products that has sold so far.

Looks like the business was setup to create a value and then sell as a business

  • I tried one of these http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/en/product/L407…
Was useless because I suspect the position inside was at the opposite side of the house to where the main antenna is pointing. This would have put it into a poor reception area
I had more luck with some old rabbit ears.
I think any antenna is dependant on decent reception/line of sight.
At least with DSE I could take it back np's.

  • Not suited for most australian channels
