That's right. Genuine one's cost about $14, aftermarket one's about $10. Or in true ozbargain spirit buy a 3ds usb cable off eBay for couple of dollars and use that with pc/phone charger.

Is it possible to get R4 cards on these? I'm considering of getting another DS (last one was ds lite) from man years ago.
I think R4 can only get it to play ds games not 3ds.

Even better you can get custom firmware for free without a card. But there's Gateway 3ds or Sky3ds that works like r4.
If i get a Sky3ds (i'm assuming it works like R4 but for 3DS) will my 3DS be bricked or anything like that? Sorry I'm really considering one but haven't researched anything yet
It won't support the card if the firmware is over 10. something i think but it shouldn't brick it. Custom firmware may
@fattymattyd: Sort of don't want to risk it and realising it won't work on future updates. Perhaps I should just find a place where it sells cheaper games
@madn3ss: I don't play mine online so no risk of being banned. And I don't really see the need to update the firmware all the time, but each to their own.
I was able to get free postage with the code for some reason.
Firmware up to 10.3 can be downgraded easily to 9.2. then use Plailect guide to ummm customize your 3DS :D
I just downgraded 10.7 to 9.2 and 'customised' my 3DS. That was an o3DS though.
