    Can stack with $25 voucher?

    • Looks like it according to Terms

      • +1

So do I have to spend $95 ($70 after voucher)? Or just spend $70 ($45 after voucher) to get $10 credit?

        • Yeah you must spend min $70 (After vouchers)

        • +4

@TRENT86: I think buying something worth $70 for $45 will still work. The $25 is store credit, not a promotional voucher. The invoice still lists full price; it's just that part of the payment was with store credit. It's essentially a gift card.

        • @puffinfresh: Well you can try it but don't hold your breath

        • @TRENT86: I can't, because I've used my $25 store credit already. There's a high chance it will work though; I doubt their system can tell the difference between these $25 store credits and any other $25 gift cards. The fact that people have been able to spend less than the $50/$100 requirement supports my theory.

Up to $50 Store Credit When You Spend $70 or More & Click & Collect

Spend $70 Get $10 Store Credit

Am I just confusing myself here, or that part sounds kinda confusing? So it is not that you'll get $50 store credit if you spend $70 at TGG, is it? You have to spend $400 to get $50 credit, right?

    • Up to, it's all in post

      • I was gonna mention that in an edit, but you've beat me to it. Yeah, it says up to, but it still seems confusing. Or maybe I need to get some sleep. :)

    • +4

      It is misleading I find.

      • Glad I wasn't the only one confused.

      • -2

I think you just need to read info in post rather than just title & you won't be confused

  • +34

    Title is a bit misleading

      • -1

With respect, if someone has to explain this then chances are you wont understand the answer. So please don't worry about it.

      • It can be true but still be misleading which is what this title was before it was fixed.

      • -3

@Mav Most aren't the brightest bunch on Ozbargain

    • +20

I agree, how about 'up to $50 store credit when you spend up to $400'. Of course the description is clear but the title highlights maximum return and minimum investment.

      • +19

What about '$10-$50 store credit when you spend $70-$400'

      • +4

What about "up to 14.3% back in store credit when you spend over $70". Because that's the very best you can achieve. Of course you then have to spend the store credit on something that probably doesn't have such a discount, so you won't end up saving 14.3% overall either.

        • +3

Too much logic there…… No one will understand that

    • +6

Agree with @Sage. This site above all else should have a higher standard of deal clarity.

I.e. I wouldn't have clicked in here if it said up to 50 off 400 (instead of 50 off 70+)

    • Someone please report this post. The OP has made the title misleading again after it was changed by a Mod. I already reported it.

  • +2

What the hell were you doing on TGG website at 3 am

    • +6

      A true ozbargainer never sleeps

  • +11

    Title is misleading.
"up to $50 store credit when you spend $70 OR more"
But I can't get $50 store credit if I spend $70 so the word is not OR.

    • +4

      Click bait.

  • +11

I thought spend $70 and get $50 credit, then damn it's not. Misleading title.

  • +3

got me wet for a second

  • +1

How good it would have been to spend $70 on a $70 item, use the $25 discount code….and then get $50 credit back.
Rolls over and hits the alarm before awaking to reality….

Did the Good Guys hire the old Dick Smith promo team..?

  • Basically the equivalent of the eBay 15% off sale starting today (which TGG are a part of).

Edit: Actually, maybe TGG aren't a part of that offer? I swear they were on the list when I looked yesterday, but not there now…

    • +1

I thought they were, but today the terms and conditions are loveabd I found out otherwise.

      • +1

They were on the initial list.

        • +2

I made the initial list. I thought TGG were on the list as their products were advertised on the landing page.

        • +2

@TheClipIt: No blame mate, just letting them know they aint crazy. Well, they probaly are, but not for that.

        • @Tuba: Oi! I'm not as think as you crazy I am!

      • They 100% were on the list as I searched the sale for an item and the goodguys came up. I have had problems trying to buy all day and now I know the reason why the call centre were so sketchy when I asked why I can't checkout after entering the code. Anyone got a screenshot of the original sale?

  • not for purchases made in local stores.

Because you could probably get the same discount off the price (especially if paying by cash).

  • Argh just bought something last friday, not picked up yet. Any idea how to get this promotion as well?

    • +1

Buy it again then return the previous item that you paid at the higher cost

      • Only applies if you bought it previously in store.
      • +1

        Cancel the click and collect.
        They'll refund it without drama.

        Buy again at discounted price

  • once u get the store credit, how much time do you have before it get expired? any1 know?

    • +1

The Store Credit will be valid until Monday 10th of October 2016.

      • cool, thanks for the info, just realised its in the description, time for coffee…

  • +2

The store credit doesn't last very long, will probably force me to spend even more. Or buy some cheap junk I don't need. :(

    • Yeah that's the point :/

    • +4

Exactly. TGG can get stuffed. These crappy deals are the number one reason they haven't had my money in years.

      • -2

        So neg it

        • Not how the voting system works unfortunately / fortunately

  • Was Looking at the canon g9x, suprise the price has gone from $559 last week (and pretty much that price for the last 2 months i've been looking for one) now it's $629, same happened during the % off ebay deal a few weeks ago.

    • Yep, the Brother MFC-9330CDW went up from $387 to $429 in light of this deal.

  • +1

Last week I went to pick up at Castle hill store and the staff had to photocopy my driver license and asked me to send the paypal transaction to them. Not sure why they had to do these.

    • +1

I don't care if they sight the drivers license but why I now have to read out the PayPal transaction ID? The good guys are stuck in the 1990's and seem to be putting more manual processes in everytime I visit.

And you have to write your full name and sign in the folder. Sheesh.

After I use this credit up I won't bother with the good guys anymore unless it's a super special. Talk about a backwards company.

  • Between buying something on special, plus using $25 coupon, plus more store credit from this, I've managed to save quite a bit. Thanks OP (and $25 coupon OP).

  • Looking to buy a toaster…

  • -2

If buying something through their eBay store what do you reckon the chance is of still getting the credit?

Picking up en eBay click&Collect order you get an invoice that looks the same as you ordering through the website…

    • +1

      none

  • Has anyone received the store credit yet? Today suppose to be the last day to send out store credit vouchers.

    • I haven't…

    • Yeah, I got emails with my store credit.
