Yes but that's not a business class deal. You could also swim there for free

You pay extra to arrive fresh and not miss a day due to jet lag. Worth it for business/ tight schedules.

I just came back from a seven days stint in the States, Before I made a booking for such a relatively short trip I did some research on jet lad and discovered the Jetlag Rooster app, it gently adjusts your body clock to that of your destination over a period of five days using variables of your current sleeping habits and manipulating your your sleep schedule. At the time I was trying to chose between $1100 Qantas Economy and $2300 Air New Zealand Business sales.

In the end I saved $1200, got some sleep on the plane and my body adjusted beautifully to the Nevada timezone. Not one night of difficult sleep or crashing at 4pm.

Some people may want to spend the $$$, have the resources or need it for business's, but I would take thirteen hours of cattle + no jet lag + saving $1200 any day of the week.

  • Time to sell my kidney. But good deal nonetheless.

Do they have any hosties less than 58yo?

    • it's not a domestic flight ☺

Decent deal - find it interesting some of the cheap flights include routing back through Brisbane/Sydney and flying the red roo.

However if you try and get those flights direct from BNE or SYD - the cost is much higher.

Hoping AA start releasing some of these deals for next year out of Oz!

First off thought this was a great deal. We are in Perth & have to be in L.A. for 3/1 to board a cruise ship on 4/1. Disembarkation. Is 19/1 in Fort Lauderdale where we have to fly back to L.A to pick up a connecting flight to Perth. Have booked it all ( as we normally do) through Alpha Flight Guru. Business class on all flights with Singapore Airlines - except the Fort Lauderdale to L.A. part which is FIRST CLASS on American Airlines. Price is apx. $6600 each.
If we had considered this offer it would have to had return flights added to N.Z. + the Fort Lauderdale to L.A. part which would have bumped the price up to way too high.
Should American Airlines start operating in Aus. with those price options it would be very cost effective.
Thanks for posting though - it is certainly great for all our Kiwi members.

You are comparing a mileage broker (Alphaflightgur) that circumvents the T&Cs of the airlines by using other people's points/miles with a fare available legitimately direct from the Airline?

      Not a fair comparison IMO.

  • Spizz,
The airlines give out these points to all who join their programs.
Not everyone wants them all, so they find a way of gaining something back through a company who in turn passes the opportunity through to the rest of us " Joe Bloggs" people to fly in comfort for a far cheaper price.
Where is the problem when the airlines have given the availability of using these points in the first place?
Does it matter who sits in the seats - the high profile sports person with his latest blond bimbo, or Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bloggs ? ( who will probably be a lot less demanding & far more polite than the first choice of people )
All the airlines know it happens & don't care enough to enforce any of their T&C's.
It's a winner all round - for the airlines who have filled planes, for the people who have passed on their points, for the company who employs people to forward on the opportunity to use them & for the people who do take up that opportunity & love the benefits of flying in a way that would normally not be available to them.

Yes it's an opportunity, but there's also the possibility that the airline finds out that thats what YOU did. And they cancel the tickets (as well within the terms of their mileage program) and you're out the $$$ you spent.

  • Welcome to kiwis' world!

I disagree as it is just as applicable to Australian travellers as it is for those living in NZ. For Australian travellers it is 1 stop on the way to LAX i.e ADL-AKL-LAX-AKL-ADL, SYD-AKL-LAX-AKL-SYD, etc after factoring in a positioning flight.

Still cheaper than I have seen QF or VA ever have a Business fare from Australia to LAX, even when they have companion fare deals. YMMV.

      • Haha sorry I was joking. I said it because it is $3358 and can't imagine an OzBargainer paying for business class

American Airlines business, practically premium economy anyway.

  • -2

This will be our 5th time of using A.F.G. - never a problem & how could there be when the tickets are legitimate.
Don't knock a product when you have no experience from using it.
Give me real life experiences of people who have been left with no way of travelling because an airline has turned them away through buying tickets this way - or put a sock in it !
