Just checked, GOG's price is US$59.99.

would help if you checked the website in AUD pricing.

      • +1

Yep, been around $60~$62 aud at GOG since the game released.

      • Cheaper at GOG. No deal.

Hard to recall a bigger disappointment in modern gaming. I mean, I know some games haven't lived up to high expectations, but NMS has had almost purely negative press about it.

    • +1

so many people expected someone different luckily i got exactly what i expected and have had a great 30 hours playtime so far.

      • +1

You weren't expecting what was shown in the trailers and gameplay videos?

      • 30 hour collecting staff and upgrading? Rinse and repeat. How deep story line?

        • It's an exploration game not a story line game.

      • That's great that you enjoyed it, and I think your expectations are what helped. They are an indy dev company and I personally think that their game is impressive compared to their team size. But the game was hyped up as the game of a generation, and maybe that just wasn't fair to Hello Games.

Buyer beware. Lots of stuff never even made it into the game. See the trailer that is on the steam page for example.

"Tried" the game without knowing about the hype that preceded it. Pretty boring TBH, i love farming games, but theres just no depth into this game. Go to another planet, do the same thing. Planets look too far alike and even the aliens that inhabit it. Ending was….well what ending?

    Wouldnt even rate bootlegging thhis

For someone who hasn't played many games for about 6 years and just built a pretty awesome computer to play some games on, I was incredibly disappointed to have this as my first game :(. I didn't even read much into it before getting it, so didn't 'overhype'. Now I need to find another game…

      Check World of tanks

      • thanks, I'll have a look

    • +2

Check out star citizen instead! It's currently in the Alpha but it is heaps better than no mans sky and… let me know if you are interested and I can send you a referral (basically you get 5000 ingame starting credits and I get them too, if you decide to purchase)

Check DOOM and then check your undies. Great game.

      • I've had a look at some trailers! It looks awesome. Any no clipping cheats in this version? ;)

        • +1

Don't know but I'm sure someone has worked it out. One nice touch to many of the levels is that the map plays out vertically. It's a cool game - and thank the devil - no cut scenes. Just get to hell and back.

  • i certainly never condone torrenting, and havent done it for a long time. but this one i was happy to torrent. deleted after 1 hour. you'll probably get it pre owned for like $10 in a month.

    • 🙄

  • Would pay $10 for this.. no more.

    • not sure it's worth that

  • I echo a lot of the comments about this game in that it's disappointing compared to what was promised but having tried it, I would buy it if it actually had MP like it promised.

    No Mans Buy

  • omg now there is a bunch of Hitler reacts to No Man's Sky. I hope like the Division this game gets a bit of dev, then I will buy it.

    • +1

Hitler reacts? Are we invading Poland?

      • +2

Nothing to fear, there is no multiplayer.

  • +3

$63? After reading some feedback, this game sounds like just a cheap indie game. I would only pay around $5-$10 that's all it is worth.

  • +1

Mirror moon was a more interesting exploration game with a space theme, worth a few bucks for a look on steam

More of a sense of wonder too

  • +1

I like the part where Sean Murray left EA to start Hello Games, sold his house to fund it claiming it was "blood money" since he paid for it with his EA wage

    • +1

He was employed by EA? I didn't know that. This is starting to make a lot of sense now.
