Chuck Norris would say " JV doesn't go look for bargains, bargains would go look for him"

    • legit question tho considering these clearance prices look like standard RRP.

  • +11

It seems like you can get better pricing at Nike outlet stores.

    • +2

Yeah I just looked at the shoes and couldnt see anything spectacular I couldnt get at the local DFO

But then I'd have to put clothes on and leave my house.

The 'Free' and 'Flyknit' ranges of Nike runners are amazing. I'll never run in anything else.

      • for neutral runners?

        • +1

I switched from heal landing and all my knee problems disappeared.

        • @PainToad: I reckon I had the same issue as you. I'm assuming pain under the kneecap aka patellofemoral pain syndrome. I visited an orthopedic and he told me I needed to strengthen my quads muscles to compensate the pressure I'm currently putting on my knee cap. He also guessed I ran heel first which causes this common problem.
As he is an avid runner as well, he told me he alternates between forefoot and heel landing as the former may cause ankle issues in the future.

Not trying to troll here or start a fight, but are they actually good for the money?

Last I heard of them they were exploiting cheap labour in poor countries to make their record profits. Put me off buying them.

Considering I get zero knee problems anymore, yes, I think so.

Last I heard of them they were exploiting cheap labour in poor countries to make their record profits. Put me off buying them.

        Like every company?

      • So you don't shop at Bunnings?

In the last BWAA Fashion Report Nike were rated with a C+ - an average score. Roger David and Factory X got Fs.

You can find the results of the report here. Bottom line is that most are pretty bad, Nike are just the 'flagship' bad brand because there was an exposé years back.

        Adidas got an A- though.

Seems like the typical retail BS to manipulate people into buying - there won't be a saving for consumers who nonetheless will be manipulated into seeing value where they didn't it before.

This will be achieved by adding a category called "Clearance" and implying that the consumer will be paying %45 less than a price that was made up for this specific purpose that the items were never sold at.

    • Have you actually compared any prices before mouthing off? The Flyknits are a great saving compared to other stores.

      • +4

A lot of the items listed in the clearance section I have personally seen at outlet stores priced the same with additional 30-50% off..

        • Some items yes. Some not.

        • Some items are of good value however I do agree with Sunny's comment that the local store have prices lower than the online ones. Whats more the buyer can try before buying for a perfect fit.

  • free shipping applied in cart apparently

  • +6

I was thinking about posting this yesterday and spent a bit of time looking for bargains but couldn't find any. You'll find better prices at retail stores for most of the items and even better deals when they have further discounts

  • So tempted to get this one
    JORDAN FLIGHT HYPERPLY MEN'S JACKET

  • +16

First thing I saw was $12 socks, I didn't feel the need to scroll any further.

    • Nike Drifit socks and the Elite basketball socks are the best socks in the world. Worth the money.

      • Nah

  • +14

Quite possibly the worst sale I've ever seen.

  • +6

Sweeeet, I'll pay $82.99 to have the honor of displaying an airliner logo on my chest. http://store.nike.com/au/en_gb/pd/2015-16-paris-saint-germai…

    • A walking Billboard as some would say.

  • +4

wtf? i think 80% and ill still think the prices are too high

  • I need running shows but dayam, even with 45% off, they're all too expensive!

  • +1

Even at 45% the prices are too high.

  • +10

sorted pricing Low-High, first item is socks for $12 (after discount), I close tab.

  • Got last season's Barca + PSG jerseys
46.99 each is not bad for legit replica jerseys

  • +7

Nothing against you TA, but even clearance prices are a rip off. You can get them cheaper (Genuine Nike stuff) at the clearance sales Ozsale have in Smithfield NSW a few times a year @ $5, $10 and $20 a piece

    • +2

I don't disagree with anything you say. But I think the Nike store does have a decent selection of things that you won't really find other "bargain bin" sales. Some of the stuff that the OP posted is actually good stuff.

It just really depends what you want.

I just bought 2x 2015-2016 football jerseys, you won't get that at Ozsale very often.

      • -1

Not talking about the ozsale site. Its the ozsale warehouse sale in Smithfield. They have it a few times a year

        • +1

Ok. But my point still stands.
You won't find some of the stuff on the Nike site in your typical DFO/Warehouse/Bargain bin sales.
But yes, the majority of things on the site are rip off to begin with.
There are still some bargains though, just have to look through carefully.

        • @Willy Orwontee: I forgot about this, thanks for the reminder :)

        • +1

          @Willy Orwontee:

Those pics of the warehouse…..I got a headache looking at that already
You'll have to trawl through all of the XXL size clothing before you (if you're lucky) find your size

  • -2

Nike is doing poorly in recent years.. Their share price has dropped a fair bit.

    • ok

    • +9

If 5 years is "recent years"

      Nike share price on NYSE
      September 2011: $20.62
      August 2016: $60.22

I know it is the internet but it still astounds me that people just make up anything without doing the simplest of google searches… why even bother?

  • +4

Eastbay is cheaper than these mob. Nike = Telstra. I am sticking with my DFO Adidas where I can pick up 2 Basketball or active wear shoes for $100 bucks.

  • +1

Thanks mate, that Nike Football Club Team Hardcase is pretty much perfect for carry-on baggage - had a hard time choosing between the colour options though!

    • +1

I got one as well. Blue :)

      • +1

Yeah that's what I settled on, not as ostentatious as the red, but won't get lost among the sea of black bags of others!

    • make sure you get the extra large hardcase !!

      • from the measurements of most of the airlines I checked, the extra large one was too big to be allowed as carry on (for those times they choose to be really strict), the standard (medium one) was 115 cubic cm which is allowable on the majority of carriers.

  • +4

Sorry TA, another not so great deal.

    • +4

Sorry TM, another not so great comment. ;)

Now if only they had a flash 40% off sale items as well!

  • It's hard to beat the previous Sportsdirect sales for a cheap ass like me

  • +1

    i prefer Harbour Town :D

  • -1

A pair of running shorts for $55???? Are you serious? Not a bargain! You can get better deals at Costco or the Nike DFO.

  • +3

So many + votes, but not many bargains IMO.

    • +2

There are SOME minor savings but no BARGAINS, I pointed this out, and got negged. Unfortunately this site isn't what it used to be.

      • I was thinking the same thing! How does this deal have 150+ pos votes and yet all the comments are stating there's no bargains?

        • Loud cheapass minority.

It's not a "bargain" because you can get "super double lucky golden dragon" shoes for $1.
But they're not nike. not branded.

Don't confuse being cheap for getting a bargain on an item that's been marketed.

I've been looking for a DWR waterproof running shoe that will last as long as my Nike 5.0 I got about 3 years ago for $80, and the best I got so far is this:
          http://store.nike.com/au/en_gb/pd/free-5-flash-running-shoe/…

          For $102.
But I am a cheapass too and I will attempt to go to Nike DFO to see if they have that for cheaper inhouse.

All you haters, help me find a similar long lasting branded shoe for less (I bought a pair of asics runners a year later for more, used it 50/50 with the nikes and it died less than year) and I will state I am wrong and STFU.

          Otherwise, #hatersgonnahate

  • Any Nike burkinis?

  • Any golf stuff?

    • Nup.

    • nike is pulling out of the golf hardware business .. they'll only make clothes for golf soon.

$18.38 delivered for this (after cashback) http://store.nike.com/au/en_gb/pd/sb-reflect-adjustable-hat/… is a good deal.

Yes, many of the products here could be found cheaper elsewhere, but for others, we don't pass a Nike clearance store or cbf rummaging through the sale section of bricks and mortar stores.
TA has created a post which has satisfied not all, but many!

That's the true meaning of OzBargain posts! +1.

Rummaging around through a bargain bin trying to find your size, surrounded by other shoppers trying to push you out of the way so they can do the same….no bargain is worth that

      The above link someone posted
      http://blog.ozsale.com.au/insider/warehouse-sale/
If there was one reason i hate shopping , its that ^

      • so you're telling me that you wouldn't rummage around to get idk maybe some havaianas for $1? 50c?

        • I would,if I wanted Haviannas + I knew there was high chance of finding them in my size rummaging.

I'm not going to black and white say, warehouse sales suck full stop, because they don't. Its all relative

          My point is,
          1. some of the stuff on this Nike.com site is decent stuff and not the "bargain bin of crappy nike gear".
          2. It takes like 1 minute to search through the clearance stuff. And you can refine search options.

    • If you dont want to go to a nike clearance store or a bricks and mortar store you could always try the online stores of other retailers to get a better deal so its isnt an excuse to say cbf unless you want a pair of multicolour flyknit racers

      • +1

        Well sure.
But find me another Clearance store/warehouse sale that sells the 2015/2016 Barcelona jersey and the 2015/2016 PSG Jersey for $47 each. You simply won't find it.
And online? Most of them are overseas sellers. And a good % of them sell fakes.

        It is what it is.
I'm not going to buy socks from Nike.com, thats for sure
But there are a few good deals to be had here. Mostly Fangear.

  • How long does the 8% cash back last?

  • Men's lunarglide 7 are cheaper on wiggle (around $5), but there's a lot more sizes and colours on the nike store

  • Free shipping only on orders over $100 or am I missing something?
