  • I looked right pass this when I was looking for DD4 coupons haha.

Is the steel good quality in these? Also why is this a student tool kit?

I just got the Jackly 32 piece set they had going on here about a month or so ago for $4.30 to surprisingly it looks and feels every cent worth the money.

As a matter of fact, its still going on for that price on their site, so if this set is anything to go by, and for about #1.30, you really can't go too wrong.

why is this a student tool kit?

It's for students who are tools…

Looks terrible and very poor quality i would be surprised if it could even turn a screw but hey you get what you pay for.:D

      • +1

I've had this toolkit for years and can vouch for its quality. I have no idea when or how much I paid for it but it has come in handy plenty of times.

I bought a different (bigger) Jack Ly toolkit for about $3 delivered. I wasn't expecting much. I've used it a bit and been really surprised at how high the quality is. I used one driver to try and undo a seized screw. I fully expected the driver to be damaged. Not a scratch in on the driver, even though the screw head was completely stripped.

I also have a Jackly 45 piece set (from Fasttech years ago), and it is definitely my goto screwdriver set almost everytime.
The only time I dont is if the screw has rusted in or seized, because my set's handle is made of some softer plastic (however this set looks to be sturdier but less comfortable). For that I use a full metal handle (from another jackly set).

The bits are also very durable (barely any noticeable wear on my most used bits) and the philips screw heads are surprisingly well fitting (Less stripped screw heads!).

If your only screw kit is something like a jewelers screwdriver kit, then you cant go too wrong with this.
Otherwise probably consider your applications before you buy, as from Gearbest it seems to have a fairly limited variety of bits (not surprisingly):

    • The quality was much better than other screwdrivers I have used. I purchased a single torx driver once for use in my car and it rounded off with only 2 screws removed, this set is still good 2 cars after.

    • what does any of that have to do with this being negged?

Websites very difficult to use and very unresponsive , might be getting ozbargained or somethin.
ill try again tomorrow , thanks OP

    • yes, it's usually quite responsive.

  • I find their site a pain and often insecure and full of errors.

    • Should NOT have to log in, straight from checkout to PayPal WITHOUT having to make a account, as per normal ecommerce

I'm glad it's portable. All of my other non-portable screw driver kits are extremely inconvenient.

That discount code is a bit easy to guess.

  • Looks cheap (yes yes, IS cheap I know but still), website is slow and crappy, and everything just screams credit card scam.

The idea of giving this mob all my personal particulars is creeping me out.

    Pass.

Can anyone explain the JACKLY brand vs the common JAKEMY brand?

  • no torque?

  • do the bits become malformed, after a few uses especially when moderate torque is applied

  • was gonna purchase it until you had to create an account, then exit chrome. CBF

I have one. Possibly bought at the same price, but can't recall. Quality wise, the bits themselves are decent and I haven't broken any. Hard to tell what sort of torque they will take as they for small screws that usually aren't don't take insane amounts of torque to remove.

That being said, it really is a cheap set of tools. The build quality of the handle, while adequate for purpose, grates on me every time I use it. The plastic compartments where the bits are bedded-in, is rubbish and I totally hate hunting for the right bit and when I finally find it, it's swear inducing trying to get it out without upsetting the rest.

I'm not advocating buying massively expensive sets of tools, but as an example, I have a $10 set that is infinitely more satisfying to use.

    TL;DR
Tools themselves, adequate for purpose. The whole set and user experience - not a joy.

    edit
I forgot to mention that don't bother with them if the screws you're trying to get to are sunk deep into your device.

  • I've got this screw driver set. The metal is very soft. I have ruined couple of screws, the screw tip broke apart inside of the screw grooves. OK for kids toys, just don't use it for tightly fitted screws.

    • Maybe because you are not using the correct screw tip for the job. This is a very common problem.

      • Nah it's just soft.

  • I have this - Not worth buying this - spend some $$ and buy and better kit ( IMHO )

  • 3 months ago I bought staff like $1, and it still not coming .

  • I have an identical set for $1 almost a year ago and they are fine. They are small gadget toolset and ONLY suitable for toys and small items such as disk drives, changing batteries, smartphone etc. Don't expect premium quality at this price. As one always says, "You pay for what you get".

  • Web site doesn't response:-(

  • Checkout broken

  • Website still pretty non functional (can find items, but not login or pay)
