I didn't see this posted with the other CHOICE20 deals, so thought i'd add it.
I did that with one of my PS3 controllers. Threw it on the ground in frustration, but all it did was further chip away a bit of the plastic around the analog thumbsticks that were already worn out big time.
I've got 4 of the black ones but just couldn't resist getting a snazzy steel black one. It'll be my special controller. Probably meaning i'll never use it and it'll just get dusty, but still look pretty :)
The battery life on the DS4's is awful (you can turn off vibration and reduce brighness on the light bar, but can't turn it off under settings). And, the first couple of controllers, the rubber on the thumbsticks was wearing away and splitting, but I think they fixed that. I use GripIt's on the controllers if i'm playing something hardcore.
am right there with you…..I dont know.. but it really hurts to spend more than 30~40 on a controller…

Ugh charged my ps4 controller using my Samsung s6 charger and it killed my controller after multiple times using it. Now it doesn't hold charge at all and won't work with USB cable at all. Just beware not to charge with those Samsung usb fast chargers.
Steam controller is $50, so I don't really see how this is even a marginally good deal
What shop is selling it for $50?
Probably exclusive to Valve's Steam Store. I bought it when it was first released, but it can't have gone up very much since then…
I need a new controller badly, I've had to opened it no less than 5 times to
1) fix analogue stick
2) remove 1 vibration mechanism
3) blutak the 2nd vibration mechanism as it loose
4) remove cable for controller light as battery was draining quickly
5) re-attach loose L2 button
all because of raging by slamming the controller on the ground. and yet I cannot bring myself to spend $70 for a controller when my old ones still alive because of my tight ass Ozbargain attitude.
