  • is it possible to "recharge" with a sim starter when you are already with woolworths prepaid?

    • -1

      Nope

    • +4

port to another service with a $2 sim then port back?

      • Yes this is what I am doing with the cheap Vodafone and woollies ones I bought. I just change provider each month. It's for my sons phone- he doesn't use the phone much - so if it takes a day it's not desperate (you can still make calls but you have a temporary number for usually a couple of hours) and worth it for $1 a month. My younger son just has the phone for Internet and to ring us if he is catching the bus so I just change his number every month.

Not really interested in the deal, but dropped by to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
    And +1 for commitment

  • +1

    Many happy bargains, Savas.

    • Many happy returns (of purchase) you mean?

  • +1

Preferred when WW mobile offered $1000 credit to use anyway you wanted (International Calls) with 45 day expiry.

Happy Birthday savas and +1 for the deal , keep them coming

  • +1

"Note: Purchases between 6-14 August will not be sent out by Australia Post until Monday, 15 August; please allow a further 5 business days from this date for delivery."
Good deal nevertheless, purchased - happy birthday Savas!

    Happy birthday Savas; 🎉

Does anyone know if this works with cashrewards to save more?

    • promo code is not on Cashrewards site so most likely not. You will get a tracking email but it wont get approved through the netwrok

    • +1

Just received confirmation from Groupon that use of this code via Cashrewards is not commissionable. So even if you get a tracking email, Groupon will reject the cashback when they validate their sales.

16GB data is tempting. But then again it's on Telstra network, and my current telstra (prepaid) connection is non-existent whenever I am in the office (have to step out of the building). I reckon getting this won't make any difference connection wise.

      Well done jv. 👍🏼👍🏼

  • Is this nano micro or standard sim? Does it come with all sizes or u can choose?

    • +2

Bought a starter pack in the last deal. Will be all sizes included in the pack.

      • Bought a starter pack in the last deal.

Are you referring to the $30 WW sim pack for $1

I did stock up a few of these $1 sims (8GB data) 👍.

Happy birthday, man. Oh and by the way, what did you say your mum's maiden name was again?

  • +1

Just a heads up for people who look at these guys because they use the Telstra 4G network.
Yep, you get 4G… but not everywhere that Telstra has it.
I'm in the country and have 4G on my wife's Telstra phone all over the place out here, but only 3G on the Woolworths phone.
Check the Woolworths coverage map just to make sure ladies and gents.

    • +1

Yep. It doesn't have Band 28, which is constantly mentioned on Ozbargain.

      • Use one of the telstra resellers and you miss band 28
      • Buy a xiaomi and you miss band 28
      • etc.
      • +3

Use one of the telstra resellers and you miss band 28

Don't think so, B28 is shown on WW's coverage map. Coverage is reduced on Telstra Wholesale sure, but you still get B28.

        • +1

On my WW mobile sims I get the same bands as I would with a telstra one

    • Do you and wife use same phones? If not swap phones and see if coverage changes.

  • $5 per min call for international Zone 3?? are you serious?
    i'll leave it

    • +3

don't worry, your nigerian uncle will reimburse you that and several million more

    • +1

you have 40 mins buddy :)

  • Can I buy these and stack them, I know I won't keep getting the bonus data, but if I buy like a years worth? Or is there a limit Woolworths will let me?

    • They cannot be stacked . You would have to port out and back in every month

    • lifted from groupon offer,2 nd line bolded by me.
      • Customers must activate the SIM by 30 Sep 2016 to receive 16GB Data
      • Limit of 1 voucher per person
      • No refunds for change of mind
      • Credit expires after 30 days
      • Data is measured in 1KB blocks
      • $45 Starter Pack includes 16GB data, then 8GB thereafter, unlimited calls & SMS
      • Price compared to mobile.woolworths.com.au on 3 Aug 2016

      • +1

        Hi thanks for your reply

I understand the 1 per person, but there are ways around that. I was more meaning how many can you obtain and keep on the side before they all expire kind of thing .

  • +1

nice deal, but this sim will drop signal easily at 4g even 3g H+…

  • +1

    Happy birthday Savas!!! :D

  • +3

Savas backwards is savaS. I couldn't help myself

  • +2

I'm a dreamer. We had the $1 deal for the Woolworths $30 starter pack. Wish this starter pack would be $1.5 ♡○♡

    • +1

I stoked up on quite a few of these dollar sims

  • Since woolworth $30 SIM sale for $1. Then cloes $10 SIM sale for $2, not interested in 1/2 price SIM sale.

    • +1

Coles sim sale $2 for $10 Sim Optus
If on $2 days then 2.5GB for $2 -> $22 will get you 25GB but this requires some effort.

This WW deal is ideal for most people

  • +1

Looks like the code has been squashed - "This code is not valid. Try again"

Excellent deal though, Wife's $1 sims are running out :)

  • +1

  • +1

    Happy Birthday Savas :)

  • +2

Unrelated, but is anyone else still on the OLD woolworths mobile plan (that eventually moved to optus prepaid)? :P

    • +2
