  • Has anyone managed to find a 5.25 to 3.5 converter to accomodate additional hard disks? I want to accomodate a minimum of 5x 6tb drives but I have 6x 4tb drives also looking for a home.

    • Yep, I use two of these:
      https://www.pccasegear.com/products/18969/silverstone-fp55b-…

They will each take one 3.5" and 2 x 2.5". So in one I have my os on a ssd and a 1tb 2.5" for BT/usenet downloads, which takes up two 2.5" slots, then a normal 3.5" as well.
The other one just has a 3.5" in it.

That makes 8 drives which is pretty good. I had some molex splitters around for power, also from pccasegear.

      • Thanks, ended up ordering 2 of theae servers given the bargain price. Figured I am future proofing.

  • Appalled with Warehouse1's customer service. I placed an order on 07/09 (1 x HP ML10 V2, 2 x HDD, 1 x SSD). All of the items were "in stock" at the time of purchasing. I received an email on 08/09 stating that I needed to provide further details for "verification" purposes (even though the payment cleared instantly via credit card). When I replied and asked what details I needed to provide, I was told the matter was forwarded to the "verification team" and would be processed no later than 09/09. As of today (12/09), I haven't been contacted by the "verification team", the order status hasn't progressed, and when I sent a follow up email, the reply was condescending and gave me no explanation for the delays (apparently, the matter will now be processed by the "verification team" today, which remains to be seen). This was my first order through Warehouse1, and will likely be my last.

      Hi Ben,

      Sorry to hear!

It is unfortunate we have to do Credit Card verification, it is annoying to go through extra steps, but as we cant accept a PIN online, sometimes we have no choice. As you might guess, our website sells expensive goods and is a target for criminals using stolen credit cards to launder money by selling said stolen goods on the street after ripping them from us. The bank then comes along and takes the money right out of our account and charges us extra fees etc. etc.

its common practice from us and our competition that we have to do checks on some orders.

That said, you should have a faster reply if this exchange occurred on friday, if you can PM me your order number, happy to expedite for you and assist in sorting it out! :)

      • Thank you for replying. I have sent you a PM. To clarify, I'm not upset about the verification process. It's a part of doing business. However, I am upset that I've tried to be proactive with providing the required details, but no-one (who has the authority to complete the verification process) has been in contact. Whenever I've followed this up with the sales representative, I've been given deadlines which haven't been met. Initially, it was 09/09, then it was 12/09, but it's now 14/09, and there has been no progress. It's been five (5) business days since placing the order. Typically (for orders that contain "in stock" items), I'd expect the order to be delivered by now, not awaiting processing. Normally, I could tolerate the delays, but my impatience is growing, as I have a failing hard drive that desperately needs to be backed up to a file server with redundancy (hence, the reason for placing the order). If you can't fulfill the order, that's fine, I'd just like to be notified.

  • Store Rep, I ordered one on the 1st September, still says ready for dispatch when I check the order status. Any reason why there is such a long wait?? Starting to get annoyed. Will PM my order number.

  • Rep, will you have it for this price again? I missed out

  • says expired, but offer still valid on their web site, so ordered one which will be used as an xpenology NAS.
