Spectablend Professional Blender $399 down to $149 (Free Shipping)

61

I went to this site to order spare jug ($99) and tamper ($29) and saw complete blender on sale for only $21 more so ordered another! (different colour) last Thursday, came today (Monday) via trackable Toll courier at no extra cost.

I emailed the store to thank them and asked how long these are at this price. Was told 2 x weeks. Over the past two years it has been dropped to $299 and $249 on Ozbargain.

Bought my original one for $299 discounted at 2014 Better Homes & Gardens Exhibition. The most powerful that I've ever used.

  • Looks like a rebadged Vitamix 1181 which is a solid blender. Although it might just be a knock off.

    even ice-cream

Whoa, it blends ice cream? Now I'm impressed!

    • Right? They should drop the other stuff and just focus on the ice-cream blending!

      I mean whoa mumma!

Reviews suck ball(bearing)s - leak issues

      Confirmed for knock off.

      • yeah, I was honestly thinking of pulling the trigger, but it seems its only the Vitamix housing which is the same.

Reviews on the Vitamix on amazon look much more consistent.

I suggest that the issues with the bearings are due to rubber/plastic degrading over time - looking at the reviews for this Spectablend, it appears leaky seals are more common recently than they were originally.

Reminds me of my 2010 ASUS laptop now starting to have rubber rub off the palmrest, and my 2003 Nikon D70 where the grip has turned to sticky tarmac.

  • Similar to the $69 Kogan ones.

  • Horrible experience with this brand.

The quality and "support" are woeful and you will end up spending more money than the original purchase price.

Also this is the normal price for this blender. It has not changed greatly over the past two years. The fact that there is a higher rrp or discount now does not reflect what the normal selling range is.

Missus ended up getting a vitamin from an Australian retailer after trawling blending forums.

(I know a lot more expensive, but she uses on average about 10 times a week).

She was using the SB about once a day and the jug fell apart in about three months.

Again, you get what you pay for.

This may be considered a bargain if it was of reputable quality and longevity. But alas it is not.

  • Whats the easiest to clean & good blender?

Tired of cleaning the 5 parts of mine.

  • Looks the same as the Kogan and Kitchenchef blender which can be had <$100 during sales (which roll around often enough).

Aldi also had one too at one point - plenty of these Vitamix clones floating around.

  • Waiting for the Kitchenchef deal to come back, missed out last time.

  • Stick Blenders are much more practical these days. Anyone know when the next decent sale will happen?
