  • No delivery to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers

    :(

    • I live in a small country town with no post delivery and only PO boxes. Not sure if it is a Australia wide thing but if we put our (physical) home address and then the PO Box number in brackets afterwards then the company thinks it is sending to a real address but the post office holds it for us.
Eg. 24 Example St (1143)……..for PO Box 1143
Worth asking at your post office anyway.

      • The reason why I prefer parcel lockers is it takes longer at my PO due to the queue of people paying bills, etc. who haven't switched to the Internet. If I get it sent to my home, they'll just card me and it's back to step 1. This restriction is probably due to Groupon not using Auspost.

  • with promo code "RETURN" you will pay $23.10. Save $2.90.

    • That Code is targeted

      • +1

Don't even know I'm one of their targeted.

    • Code was initially accepted but I could not pay in PayPal. Returned to the site and it now rejects the code.

  • Not a bad deal.
I think the "8 months of filtered water" tag on Groupon is wrong though. The cartridges last 30 days and it comes with four, so that's 4 months. But still pretty OK price. The jug is usually ~$35 .

    • Aren't they for 2 months each?

      • "How long do maxtra filters last?
The Brita jug comes with one cartridge and a sensor which tells you when it is time to change it. It suggests four weeks use but the cartridges do say they last for 100 uses which is roughly a jug refill three times a day for the whole month."
They suggest 30 days of normal use but I guess you could stretch it and it would depend on your family size and habits.
Sort of the printer cartridges of water.

I think the replacement time depends on where in the world the product is used.
Australia seems to be 8 weeks (See copy and paste from brita.com.au below)
I got the Marella XL from bunnings a few weeks ago and the cartridge indicator has only dropped one bar out of four.
Bought this deal as its worth it for the cartridges alone. Says Processing hopefully it goes through.

The XL jug is a little on the large side. Hopefully this one fits in the fridge door.

""In order that the quality of your BRITA filtered water is maintained at a high level, you should replace the filter cartridge at regular intervals.

The service life of the filter cartridge depends on the local water quality: if your mains water contains a carbonate hardness of 12 to 14.5° EH (degree of clarke hardness), then the filter cartridge should be replaced after a consumption of 100 litres of water. If the water is harder or consumption is greater, the lifetime of the cartridge reduces accordingly.

The cartridge should be replaced after eight weeks at the latest, as the requirement for careful hygiene to ensure that you are experiencing optimum performance from your BRITA cartridge.""

          @smudger:

I got the Marella XL from bunnings a few weeks ago and the cartridge indicator has only dropped one bar out of four.

The cartridge indicator is time based, it doesn't sense anything at all. It's set based on region, so if you got a UK jug (from ozaroo) then it'll drop one bar every week.
Australian cartridge indicators will drop one bar every two weeks.
Interestingly, the UK made Brita cartridges weigh slightly heavier on the kitchen scales than the German made Brita cartridges (sold in Aus, supposed to last longer).

        • @cwongtech: True that the sensor is based on time. It is the Brita Elemaris jugs whose replacement sensor is based on several factors.

Thanks OP, bought 3 just enough filters to last for whole year.

P.S. Shipping fee remaining the same even you bought 5 (max).

If you just after the filters like myself, I preferred you buy enough filters to last for whole year.

    1x (04 filters) $6.50 each filter
    2x (08 filters) $5.63 each filter
    3x (12 filters) $5.35 each filter
    4x (16 filters) $5.20 each filter
    5x (20 filters) $5.10 each filter

  • Thanks op. Definitely will come in useful for a family of 9.cheers

    • This jug is the smaller version of marella range

These seem to be sold on the printer model - cheap jug/expensive filters. They are also very basic filtering. You'd be much better to install a dual filter tap on the sink - a pretty easy DIY (though of course you should use a plumber blah, blah, blah). These filter much better and the filters are far cheaper. That's if you are able to install one (not renting).

A friend bought the Brita Fill&Go bottle. The tiny filters are incredibly expensive and the other thing is they have a short model lifetime and then you can't buy the filters.

I think what happens is people give away the extra jug with one filter to a friend or relative and then Brita has another customer. I know I gave away the previous extra jug.

    Good one! Thanks Op!

  • Bought 5 and I don't even drink water.

  • Forgot cashback :-(

  • Looks like its only allowing a max of 2 now.

  • Bought 2, the return code worked for me.

  • Has anyone tried to use this in place of a French press?

  • Sold Out!

  • I have used this Brita for the last 6 months. It leaks small visible bits of black carbon. I have to use coffee paper filter to rid of them.

    • "Please be assured that the contents of the cartridge are food grade and completely harmless to yourself and if accidentally consumed will be harmless to health. Their presence will not affect the performance of the cartridge."
      http://www.brita.com.au/brita/au-au/cms/questions-about-prod…

    • It would be the cartridge that's leaking. Usually carbon powder is visible in the first batch of water, then much less afterwards. Anyway it's harmless as ozlab pointed out.

    • Carefully following the cartridge preparation instructions may address this issue.

  • Did they send a confirmation email?

  • Has anyone received these yet? Tracking is useless.

    • Yep, received mine today (Sydney).

  • Should there be a small gap below the filter?

It doesn't taste quite as expected, I have pushed the filter down as far as possible without breaking it but there is still a small gap there. Is that right?
