Compression Tights - Skins; 2XU at Amart Sports $50 + Shipping $7.95

540

Hi all,

I was shopping around for some compression gear to make running in winter bearable and I found a few Skins and 2XU tights at various lengths for men and women starting from $50. Pretty good deal for stuff that retails at around $150.

Link is to the Skins I bought last night and was pleasantly surprised to see it had already been delivered this afternoon. Plenty more if you search the compression section of the website. Enjoy!

  • I would like to buy them online but I'm not entirely sure about sizing. I'm 181cm and around 88kg and somewhere between size M and L. Any suggestions? Any suggestion would be appreciated…

just go to any rebel and try…. or check the product official website (for example 2xu.com.au for the 2xu size guide.)

most brand will recommend you to go smaller if you happen to be in the middle of their size guide. they are stretch alot, and remember the name is compression so meant to be more than just "tight"

Try it in store - they are quite tight (hence the name compression). If it doesn't fit, I am sure you'll not wear it anymore and leave it in the wardrobe
If it's not tight, then it won't help you recover from exercising
If it's too tight then you won't feel comfortable.

      • I wish but unfortunately I'm so busy atm that I can't make it to any store. By the time I finish work everything is closed. I'm happy to give them away if they're not the best fit and order different size but it would be nice if I could get the right size straight away…
        Anyway thanks for your help!

Go the smaller size. That's the company's suggestion and in my case, it was right. I was on the border of S and M (EDIT: and I didn't cross that line).

For most people it won't get too tight width-ways, it'll be too short or long mainly. So unless you're super short and wide or super tall and anorexic it'll fit fine.

        • Its free returns according to the site.

Buy 'em small, they stretch a lot.

    • Large. I'm taller but similar bodyweight as you and wear large for 2XU

and if you first timer, this is my advise:
dont buy under armour they are just like legging, get skins or 2xu quality is much better.

    i have UA and 2XU.

    • Agree - I haven't found anything close to the quality and compression of skins.

      • i concur too…have all three of them, i'd go 2xu, skins then UA in that order.

        • Hrm I gotta try some 2xu then. I've got skins and UA but UA just does not compare at all

  • in-store or online only?

    • In-Store also! Limited quantities remaining however

  • do these provide much warmth?

It's not like $20 thermal from Kathmandu or uniqlo but yes it will make slight warm and dry. Super comfortable if you are into sports.

      • I am mainly into cycling, do you think I'll be better off with this or with the $20 thermal from Kathmandu?

I feel airflow/wicking/something when wearing these and they actually make me feel slightly cool despite being full length. But I'm quite sensitive to cold.

Skins do a ski/winter range which are designed to compress and keep you warmer too.

Aldi sell cheap but well made compression underwear, but only twice a year, and they sell out in under a day :(

    • cheap but not well made in my opinion, maybe similar to Skin 100, certainly not 200 quality.
forget about other supermarket ones, ALDI is better

    • I found some men's s/s compression tops in M and S at the Burwood (VIC) Aldi a couple of weeks after they first went on sale. Whether they're sold out really depends on size, model, location, etc. Worth a punt for $11.99. Aldi's recommended sizing seems to be more "tight shirt" than "compression", so I went down a size for my second one, from M to S.

  • Are guys meant to wear something over the top of these, they look a bit revealing?

    • +1

if you are super confident about your body shape then no need. working hard sweating in the gym, the purpose is to reveal as much as possible?

      • Was thinking more regarding jogging through my housing estate.

I mean it seems to be common for females to wear this sort of stuff even in the office these days, but blokes are expected to, how should I say, not have anything obvious below the belt! Lol

haha yeah just wear normal shorts above compres. tights, and normal tshirt above compres. shirt.
the one thing most common for females are the 3/4 tight, but actually i want to try get one like that. seems handy, protect knee and tight muscle as well.

Do you wear undies beneath these?

    • Yes; incredibly uncomfortable otherwise.
