I recently built a house in Nov 2015, and I received a call today to make a termite inspection appointment ASAP to maintain my "warranty". They are asking $265 for full inside/outside inspection, including any vegetation 50m radius from my house, and also including roof cavity. The company is Bittn pest solutions. Is this a good price? Who should I call for another quote? Is it possible for another company to do the inpection, but still keep my warranty? Thank you.
Annual Termite Inspection for a New House

I received a call today
Do you have a contract of some type with them? If so, does that contract cover termite damage, provided that you have a yearly inspection?
They might have been cold calling people who have had a house built in the last 12 months. Data is probably available on the internets. It could be a rort so definitely check your records.
No other company is going to take over your warranty. For $265 are they spraying also?
Unless your neighbours have termite problems I wouldn't bother with it, but of course you should look around your property.
this sounds like bullshit from the company.
warranty?!?! what? inspection??!!??? - "yep, no termites"

We built in April last year, and our termite warranty documents clearly said, it needs annual inspections by their company to maintain the 30 year warranty. So I booked them up and they gave me discount in the annual pest inspection and spray. Check your docs, some of your termite warranty companies won't honor warranty if you don't follow their maintenance terms.
Yep, all depends on whether the OP has had a termite barrier installed or not and whether it was done by this company. Don't know from the info provided and I doubt the installer of the barrier would accept another companies inspection for warranty purposes (probably some fine print in the warranty they offer).
What did you install as your initial termite barrier?
