Saw this - pretty cheap for a basic tripod specially since I've never had a tripod before.
Edit: Now $14.99 down from $19.99

I bought one! It's actually 14.99. They must've lowered the price again. Thanks OP.
They also had selfie sticks for a similar price.
Awesome. I plan to go on the 11th of July Monday. hopefully they still have the deal.
It's supposed to expire 17/7, so should be ok if they have stock. There is a big pile in their front window at the moment.
I've got one of these. The legs are pretty solid but the head is cheap and flimsily built. The quick release plate also sits quite loosely in the head, it stays on but is just disconcerting. And it is a bit short at a max height of 1.33m. Unless you're on a really tight budget, I'd recommend spending a little bit more on a tripod of better quality.
Depends on the camera. I wouldn't put a heavy DSLR on one of these if it's the 1.4m version I'm thinking of. If you have a smaller camera it's fine. Easy trick if it has a loose plate is to use some electrical tape or duct tape to give it a firmer feel. But if you do this be careful of the glue from the tape making a mess if it's left in a hot car, and don't store it on top of the camera. At your own risk of course. I'm not there to check your work.
Damnnit, I walked from Pitt street mall all the way to Broadway Camera house, because the new store didnt show up in Google maps.
I realised that the new store is 2 minutes from my work…
BTW the address is 250 Pitt St, (NOT 290)
They still have a lot of stock.
Here is a pic showing the $15 price

Essential for landscape shots apparently
And a remote trigger I would think,
but you can download an app for that if your camera has wi-fi
