Free $100 Visa Pre-Paid Gift Card with Online Purchase of NAB Life Insurance (Min 40 Days)

70

Now I don't advocate life insurance (or most other insurances) but I do advocate free money.

NAB is offering a free $100 Visa pre-paid gift card to online purchasers of life insurance.

Terms, conditions & exclusions:

To be eligible for the $100 Visa Gift Card incentive, you must purchase NAB Essential Life or NAB Accidental Death Insurance between 1 July and 30 September 2016 11.59pm. If approved for NAB Essential Life insurance, a minimum premium of $20.00 per fortnight or $40.00 per month applies at the time of purchase. Minimum premium is applicable for NAB Essential Life only.

You can have only one policy, either NAB Essential Life or NAB Accidental Death. You are not able to apply or complete an application on behalf of others. If you do, that policy will be cancelled from inception and no incentive will be paid. Customers purchasing multiple policies will only receive one Gift Card and the second or any subsequent policy will be cancelled and premium(s) refunded. Existing Essential Life policy holders are excluded from this offer.

The Gift Card will be sent in the mail to the primary applicant’s mailing address within 55 days after the commencement date of the NAB Essential Life or NAB Accidental Death Insurance policy subject to (i) the policy not being cancelled or lapsed within the first 40 days; and (ii) all premium payments being made during that period.

I can't find any link to apply for NAB Accidental Death Insurance. It might not be for sale at the present.

There is a potential for $40 profit after 3 $20 fortnightly (42 days) premiums are paid. Perhaps more if the gift card is sent earlier.

  • My experience is that you go to an insurance company for insurance and a bank for your banking needs. You will quickly give this $100 back to NAB and a whole lot more. Happy to hear from anyone who thinks this is not the case.

I would be happy to hear how NAB would be able to get more than $100 back from you, if you leave after 3x$20 payments.
Not saying you are wrong, just curious for more details.

Yes, it works if you are going to cancel straight away. If you want to keep the insurance then that is a different matter. The premiums will be higher than a policy directly with an insurance company so don't get sucked in for a $100 gift card if you actually want the insurance. Shop around for the best premium and best featured cover.

        • Fair enough.

        • @jm48: I got my insurance through NAB for cheaper than directly through the insurer (albeit only by $2.60 a month), and got emergency cover included for a year free.

    • Nah I go to a supermarket (Coles) for Credit Cards ;)

  • For those who have participated in the promotion in the past, would they be eligible for this promotion?

No problem there if you've changed your last name to Burger. They'll never catch on and when you die early from a heart attack everyone wins.

    • I don't remember they did ID check last year. Although the Free $100 Visa Pre-Paid Gift Card will have your name on it, you can use the card anywhere. So use your imagination …
