How depressing, I had two keys cut for about ~$30 not long ago - the bunnings key machine was broken so I had to go to a local keysmith.
Think you may have got lucky. The key blanks have had a temporary price reduction to 95c but usually there is an additional charge for cutting.
I did it for 95c also last december. Went back after that to ask them to re-cut since one key can't be used.
thats a great price.. i don't live anywhere near WA but worth a +!

I paid $3.95 at my NSW Bunnings last weekend
Just called Bunnings Myaree and they don't have that service for the Southies (and plus their key cutting machine is broken) RRP$4.50

LMAO! Don't bother asking them to cut car keys. I got one 'cut', looked at it, handed it back and said 'try again'. The person who cut it said to me, 'go out and try it anyway'. I said 'IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK, IT'S NOT SYMMETRICAL'. She told me again to go try it…so I did. Not a ****ing chance, didn't even get the tip in.
Then they tried feeding me the line, 'car keys don't have to be symmetrical'…..with employee's like this would you risk it? I'd rather pay the money and go to a decent locksmith!
So has anybody anywhere else got the 95c deal? How come so many +ve votes?
