Crap! Way to ruin my five seconds of fun, bruh. :x

    • You have committed sacrilege to the gaming gods. Your punishment; to be locked in a cell akin to that in the Saw movies, with only E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on the Atari 2600 as your form of "entertainment".

      • (Lowers his head in shame)
        Punishment well deserved, mate. :(

Clearing XBone stock in preparation of the arrival of the XBoneS, I guess?

    • If they are clearing stock, what about the 500GB ones. Possibly cheaper?

  • -4

Holy crap, this will make it to Deal of The Month

  • Good price, especially since the S RRP is overpriced!

    • Considering 4K bluray players RRP for $549-650, no, no it's not.

  • Hmm this or ps4

    • Hmmm mountain bike or PS4?

Steam is cheaper than console unless there is a console exclusive you want ….

        • Not always.

See Doom - $79.95 USD on Steam.

        • +1

Useless is a pretty strong word. Console games have much healthier online populations in Oz - makes all the difference to me. I play Battlefield 4 - looking at Battlelog there are around 200 people playing on PC - 1200 playing on PS4.

        • @baratta: No one said useless.

        • -1

@DavidB93: Yeah, there's at least a dozen legit digital key sites that charge only a fraction what Steam does normally, but Steam have one of their big sales going at the moment, so stuff is pretty well priced there. Even so, in comparison console versions of the same games are ludicrously priced considering the considerable downgrades they are.

        • -2

doesn't steam need a $1000+ machine to run all the games?

      • +1

Steam is never cheaper for new releases, and often more expensive (ie, recent cases of games with special "Australian" prices of $79.95 US. Which is a lot more than the Target $67 usual price on new release PS4 and XBO games.

        • +1

PC gamers simply use Steam as a launch platform for the games, for the most part. You can buy legit keys at any of the dozens of other digital retailers for a fraction of the regular steam price. They would still be a fraction of the price of the best sale price you could get them for, compared to a console version, too.

        • @infinite:
Only for some games. GMG is probably the best one and its pretty bad with Aussie tax. You regularly see new games being sold at $90USD just because its the AU version. Even with their 20% code its still expensive.

Xbox is far better in every way except look and power

      • +4

So it's not actually better in any way shape or form then?

        • +1

          Better exclusives (for my taste).
          Better online experience.
          Better free monthly games.
          Cheaper CD keys.
          Backwards compatibility.
          Not Sony.

        • +3

@PainToad: What's the Xbox One exclusive list down to these days? Halo 5 and Forza Horizon 2?

        • -1

Theres more than look and power. Which interestingly enough Xbox will pull ahead in both with the 2 new consoles.
UI is far better, backwards compatability is awesome, better exclusives, better controller, Microsoft actually seems to want to improve it (Sony seems very complacent at the moment), GWG is destroying PS+ at the moment, soon to have cross buy with PC for exclusives.

        • -1

          @Jamie007:
When comparing to PS4, it has many.

        • +4

          @ScruffTheJanitor:
          Really?

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_exclusives_(eighth_generation)#Xbox_One

Filter by 'exclusive', check the 'yes' fields.

Xbone AAA games are: Forza 5, Halo5, Sunset Overdrive. That's it.

PS4 list on the other hand keeps going and going.

        • -1

          @StickMan:
As I said, when compared to PS4.
If you are looking at Xbox v PS4 then exclusives are whatever game isnt on the other console, isn't it?
Besides Xbox putting their games on PC aswell is a good thing, not a bad thing.

        • -1

          @ScruffTheJanitor:

Nope cos many people with either console also has a computer. so games on a pc and 1 console is not exclusive.

For example. Street Fighter V is only on PS4 and PC. All the xbox owners without PS4s still play the game on PC. so they were not excluded from playing the game with is a bad thing because what's the point of the exclusive? people without the specific console must be excluded for the exclusive to work.

        • @suicine94:
Poor logic. Most people gaming on console won't have a PC powerful enough to run new games like Quantum Break.
By that logic you could take out Last Of Us as an exclusive because Xbox one owners might have a ps3.
This is talking about getting an Xbox 1 or PS4. The assumption is you dont have any other platforms for new games.

Whats the point of exclusives? The more platforms the game is on the better. Microsoft is doing nicely by putting its games on PC.

        • @ScruffTheJanitor: Have you ever tried the Windows Games platform? Here's some first hand experience…..it's shit. It doesn't support proper full screen. It tries to wrap the game executable with their own crap platform wrapper which makes any mods/monitoring tools defunct. It does not support Crossfire/SLI. It's patches are deployed way later than say Steam or other platforms.

And it's predecessor, GFWL was a fan favorite amongst PC gamers. Hint: It's a sarcasm.

        • @ScruffTheJanitor:

More platforms makes the game worse since developers need to make sure the game works for all platforms. so they take the lowest common denominator for everything. for example, infamous second son had a feature where it used the motion controller and the controller's speakers as a spray can. if this game wasn't exclusive im sure the feature will not happen.

also usually exclusives have better graphics cos they can optimise the game for the particular console or PC.

The point of exclusives is so customers will more likely buy your console and that grows the community.

  • This is a seriously good deal…would be great for those who are not interested in the new S model.

Personally the external PSU put me off buying XB One and went with PS4 deal…

I don't need to buy this. I don't need to buy this. I don't need to buy this. I don't need to buy this.

    • You certainly need that…You certainly need that…You certainly need that…You certainly need that…You certainly need that…

    • And… you bought it!

    • +1

      Four dont's make a do.

    • +2

You really don't. It's only $299, and 1 tb, and a game or two.

  • Do you know if target will be selling ps4's for a similar price?

    • +1

Xbox One is being replaced very soon, so they're running out all stock. PS4 won't be obsolete yet, even though the VR/4k version is coming soon.

      • +5

Xbox One is being replaced very soon… by pretty the same machine in a smaller package.

I wouldn't exactly call it obsolete.

        • +1

Maybe I've worded my response pretty poorly - the new Xbox is like the old one but with 4k powers. So, maybe not obsolete, but won't be as desirable.

The price is dropping because the Xbox One is having a hard time in sales compared to the PS4 - the PS4 has a huge sales lead worldwide.

If they don't drop the price, they can't clear inventory now because, if prices were equal, people would chose the PS4 over the XBone and MS stock would still be in the shelves.

        • @Droz: The only 4K "power" it will have is the ability to stream and watch 4K video. I'm not seeing at all how that's going to be worth spending $$$ on?

        • -2

          @infinite:
          4K bluray players are $549-650, that's how.

        • +1

@infinite: Oh wow, it won't play games at 4k? And it'll be obsolete in a year? This is crazy.

I suppose that if you want a 4k BluRay player that'll do nicely, but… man, that kinda sucks.

        • @Droz: You have to wait for Scorpio for that. But, as with all MS hardware announcements…… remember Project Natal.

      • +1

There wont be any rush on them. It's not a 4K gaming console, it's just the same unit with the ability to watch/stream 4K videos. Which is fairly ridiculous considering you could have just spent the same money on a PC instead of two different PS4's and actually have got something that can do 4K gaming.

        • Two PS4's Being $550 each isn't going to get you a 4k Playable PC at all.

Won't even be enough for low Settings 4k

        • @Tehcookiemonsta: Can vouch for that. My i7 4790K with 16 gigs of memory and 2X 980 G1 SLI can't hit 60fps in 99% of games in 4K with AA and MB off.

        • @shadowarrior:

Yea im going to buy a Gtx 1080 for my 4k Rig Soon , With G-Sync Monitor :)

Right now im playing on a PS3 so it is definitely an upgrade hahaha

For the ones who will go in store 2mrw to check it would be awesome if you see any other gaming deals could you mention here in comments :)

  • From what time in the morning can we access the website with this price, based on the past?

Will the target EBAY store be selling at this price as well, that way you could also get the $50 voucher ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/254873 ) AND use the "appy15/appy25" coupon

    • Whats the appy25?

I had the email to use a APPY15 but not appy25?

      • Some people got a appy25 code which is 25 off, instead of appy15. You and I only got the 15 though

    • Does not appear to have console on the ebay page at all

  • Pretty tempting this price, is this best price we've seen for bundles??

I'll go play with my new smart light globes and sit waiting for the Jawbone UP2 to arrive…

    • Wait til Xmas for the xbone s price drop.

Wish it was for ps4! Still this is an awesome deal! Good find!

  • OP, will there be any version with kinect?

    • +1

What would you need Kinect for? There is no support for it.

      • If it is the same price with the kinect why not! I am curious of how does it work and went to buy the kinect bundle but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

  • Nice deal, but wasnt there a deal of $199 at some point?

  • +1

Well now I just feel stupid, having lined up at midnight for the XB1 500GB, Big W deal for the same price.

    • Happens.

You win some you lose some. I could have saved $200 on my Surface if I waited a week.

      • Console disappeared from their eBay store.

  • So, Xbox One 1TB with both Tomb Raider games costs $299 as well? or $549 as advertised on website?

    • sale has not started yet

  • Other than GOW and Halo is there really something out there for Xbox one? I'm ps4 gamer thinking of this.

Also I was more inclined to Xbox one S which has better graphics

    • ….and inbuilt PSU

      • and much smaller in size too.

    • +3

Xbox One S doesn't have better graphics over the first gen Xbox One FYI. It has HDR (colour space) support if your TV features it though. 99.9% of users won't see a visual difference. The Xbox Scorpio due out next year will have the improved GPU and CPU (rumoured to be ~6tf).

As you have a PS4, I personally wouldn't bother with the XB1 as third party titles are superior on that platform and MS first party output is fairly minimal by comparison. The only trump card the XB1 has IMO is that it's completely silent (which is a big plus point admittedly).

      • Mine wasn't. :(

The fan on many of them (I think MS uses a couple of different fan manufacturers) made an annoying fluttering kinda noise. My original one from launch was silent though.
