  • Just to let you guys know, I received $50 paypal credit from ebay today , 23 days after contacting support. My $200+ purchase was paid In British Pounds from a Uk seller, but through ebay.com.au.
Hope you guys get your credit.

  • What a waste of time. After awaiting a second 15 days, they said to wait another 48 hours for marketing team to respond. After another 48 hours passed, they said to wait a further week as they have a system glitch. Are they really serious doing the business ??? I will escalate to Dept of Consumer protection if they keep telling crap next week !

  • After 40 days of waiting patiently I received this email suggesting me to wait another 15 to 21 days.

Ebay latest email: August 20, 2016

We apologise for the inconvenience about the delay of getting the voucher. But no worries, an escalation has already been submitted to our Promotions Team. Please check with PayPal for confirmation within the said timeframe.

If you are lucky, the next time you follow up them, they gonna say, it will take another 7 days as we have a system glitch that your refund was not submitted. I guess they are trying to postpone the credit hoping that we are gonna give up and forget about it. For my case, I will raise the issue to Dept of Consumer Protection if I don't get the refund by Wednesday.

      • I was told to wait another 15-21 days when I followed up Ebay Au last week after waiting more than 40 days already. I can hardly trust Ebay these days. I hope the Department of Consumer Protection served your goal for the refund.

        • I have raised an issue with Docep last week as Ebay just keep giving excuse and no more response from Ebay. It will take up to 10 days for Docep to action. I think you should not wait for more days for their excuse which you may end up they are being ignorant again.

        • Hi. How was your claim through Docep? Was it approved? Any luck since you raised the complaint to Docep?
          Thanks.

        • @chrisAir23: They are still progressing. Ebay still not giving me the credit though as I would expect, they just postpone and postpone hoping that we give up.

        • @yht: Thanks. We are in the same situation. I will wait until Saturday next week. It will be the 15th day of the 15-21 days waiting period. Almost two months (60 days) and I have yet to receive my refund.

@chrisAir23: Docep rang me yesterday and advised that ebay will contact me to sort out. Then I received an email from Ebay that I have to wait up to 72 hours for Marketing team to check. Such a waste of time. I think you should escalate to Docep before you waste more days for nothing. At least Docep will gonna ring me again Monday to check if Ebay has refund the money or not. Ebay will listen to Docep.

        • @yht: Hi. I just received yesterday (after 50 days) the $50 from Ebay Au credited to my Paypal account. These are the details from the email received.

PayPal eBay International AG sent you money! $50.00 AUD
Get your money in just a few easy steps. Click the button below to get started.

          Claim Your Money
Claim your $50.00 AUD by 9 Oct 2016 or it will be returned to the sender.

I checked my PayPal account and it is there. I just need to be mindful of the date Oct 9, 2016. I hope you have received yours.

        • @chrisAir23: So the credit has expire date ? Can we send it to our bank account ? It's pretty pathetic that Ebay keep giving the reply that they will credit my account within 15-21 days, which Docep has to accept it.

        • @yht: I think yes. There is an option in the PayPal account that states:

          $50.00 is yours!
The money from eBay International AG is now in your account.
Your account is ready to go!
Here are some things you can do to get started.
-Transfer money to your bank account
          -Send money
          -View your account

The "Transfer money to your bank account" could be the answer. But I still have to confirm with Paypal customer service.

        • @chrisAir23: I have finally received the $50 credit in my paypal account without expire date.

        • @yht: Wow, no expiry date? Try to check it through the email that Ebay sent you. That is exactly what I thought when I checked the Paypal account ( No expiry). But the expiry date notification was in my email. However, if you have not received any expiry in your email, good for you.

        • @chrisAir23: Yes,no expire date. Here is the email :

Just thought you'd like to know eBay International AG sent you $50.00 AUD.
          Get the Details

You can use the funds to:

          Shop online at thousands of stores that accept PayPal;

Transfer it to your bank account (takes 3-5 business days); or

Send Money to anyone with an email address or mobile number.

  • So I waited pretty much up till today. I opened online chats with them once every 1-2 weeks to see if there was any progress and finally someone was able to tell me their escalations to the marketing department has been rejected…twice…and neither times was I contacted.

Anyway…their argument for me was that I didn't make the purchases "within the period" or "within one transaction" both terms they threw in there…but I had made the purchases in one day….within the period (30th June) totalling $205 before shipping. I've been reading the terms and conditions multiple times and maybe my english isn't good enough but I honestly don't see any part of the T&C saying it had to be in the same transaction just that I had to spend $200 within the time period. Am I misreading the T&C? Or are they just trying to weasel their way out of this?
    Any advice would be great.

    • To be eligible to receive the $50 eBay voucher, you must make a purchase of $200 or more

Not multiple purchases. Sorry I don't think you have a leg to stand on. Also, this was discussed numerous times if you read through the comments (yeah I know 6 pages of them!). Pretty much everyone agreed it was a single purchase of more than $200, not multiple purchases

      • Thanks for clarifyin that…when I saw it I had that lightbulb moment…and I guess I should've read the whole list of comments…I actually read it on and off during that period but never saw….neither here or there though but I guess I'm making such a row over it cos…I told 2 people about this promotion…

Neither of them spotted it either….but the kicker is…both of them got the voucher…well one will get. He got an email reply promising him he'd get it…and both of them took more transactions than I did…………..

        • That sucks. Well at least you didn't tell them and they didn't get the voucher, then you would feel really bad!

        • @PBG: I just wish they were more specific in be terms when I read it it was spend 200 within said period you will get

I actually opened multiple chat sessions prior and half their reps told me yes I was legible after looking at my case

And even when I got rejected the then rep told me it was because of clause #7
          …. and now I'm just mad -.-
