==============

Personally, I use one at home with my Plasma TV. I have my PVR plugged into the 'always on' power points.

Also comes with Belkin's Lifetime Warranty and a connected warranty of up to $250,000.

  • is it worth it?

  • you can't be serious! a remote? for a power board? $150? A Bargain?
This is why the terrorists hate us.

I can see this being useful. Not everyone likes to leave their power boards in the open and some like to turn their equipments to off instead of standby (Consoles, rarely used AV equipment etc).

That said, I have no idea if this is a good price for it.

EDIT: Note - from what I hear, Belkin's lifetime warranty is second to none.

  • $123 from Austin's pickup, or $128.40 delivered Australia wide:

      Hi kirt,

If you would like to pick up, mention OzBargain and we will do it for $120 for pickup @ our Cannington store.

Please note that while Austin shows $5.40 for shipping. This is not exactly true as they have a minimum freight charge per order. The minimum charge to say, Melbourne or Sydney is $35. (if you add the item to a cart and then enter your postcode for freight estimate (eg, say for Melbourne or Sydney it will show this)

So to ship a conserv to Sydney from Austin would be $158.

We are sending this unit to anywhere in Australia for $149 (registered & insured)

These units generally sell for over $170 + shipping.

We have 6 units left now.

      Thank-you,
      Luke

      • so you are charging $29 for shipping?…

        • +1

The $149 is inclusive of shipping & handling & insurance to anywhere in Australia. On checkout, select "cannington store pickup" and we will ship it out to you.

Fair call for the freight with Austin's, and kudos for going to $120 pickup

You're completely right, their shipping charge is a complete joke. I have no idea why they have made their shipping charge calculation so confusing and misleading.

I'm not sure on this (need to track down the article), but I seem to remember Choice or Silicon Chip did a test on these powerboards and discovered the residual power needed for handling the remote functionality could be similar to the standby power of connected devices, therefore negating the products main advantage.

Nope, I got it wrong, Choice says it does save power, but gives it a poor rating http://www.choice.com.au/Reviews-and-Tests/Technology/Home-e…
Might be a good deal off RRP if you really want the powerboard
