  • Bought one of these myself earlier today…should have posted it as a deal, I guess!

    • Same I bought one 3 days ago but didn't post it.

  • These things are great. Got a couple and they have never missed a beat.

  • +1 Had mine for over a year. Most reliable card reader I've owned. The single piece machined stainless steal constructions means its virtually indestructible.

    • "The single piece machined stainless steal constructions means its virtually indestructible"

Ahh, now I understand what is so good about them.

      • Plus it's UHS-I and UHS-II compatible.

  • thanks. got one. been looking for one of these for a whlle and this looks good. will be helpful as there are quite a few laptops these days that are no longer having a full size sd card which is not good as most cameras that full size sd cards.

  • Does USB3 make much difference for card readers - worth upgrading from USB2 ones? Would think the limiting factor is the card speed…

    • Depends how fast your flash memory is…..but even on an average class 10 card, you'll see a noticeable difference in read speed.

Plugging this reader into a usb2.0 port will deliver read speeds of around 25MB/s (about a real world Max for USB2.0) whereas in a USB 3.0 port read speeds will be closer to 45MB/s.

A higher performance card will yield even greater speed. Some quote 95MB/s and above. I haven't tested these.

    • Unless you're really impatient then probably not, on the other hand if you've spent the money on fast cards then a little extra for a faster reader makes sense.

I got sick of my $1 Chinese ones breaking and borrowing (stealing) my brothers, it really was about time to buy one that would last.

  • The adaptor is so good! Really fast read speed and good pairing with highspeed card. Better than Lexar by numbers.
