Nova Launcher Prime $0.99 @ Google Play Store (80% off, Usually $4.99)

3070

Nova Launcher Prime is currently on sale for only $0.99! Usually $4.99. For anyone hesitant, this is a great price for an excellent launcher. I'd recommend it even at full price.

This is just the unlocker for the Prime features, so you'll need to have Nova Launcher installed to use it.

If you're stuck on what to use Google Play Rewards credit on, this is it.

    Thank you.

I got this last time. I never buy apps, but this is $0.99 well spent.
For me, the main thing is to actually make use of my full-HD screen. I need screen real-estate, and this launcher allows me to red rid of the oversized icons and ridiculous padding. I can now squeeze heaps of content on my home screen.

Good app for anyone who's sick of Touchwhiz / Emotion UI / Optimus UI

This gives it a more stock feel but without any of the unneccessar bloat, like the crap that Go Launcher introduces (shudder)

I've never had the need to use any of the prime features. Gestures are nice though — you can program a double tap on the home screen to lock your phone.

Have been using Nova for years.

By far one of (if not the) best launchers available.

  • +4

If you use an iphone as your spare phone, nova is great, because it lets you basically replicate iphone functionality. (swipe down to pull up recent apps / search) - double tap home to bring up the task manager. Etc (Actually that might need "home2" as well)

Since I can't customise my iphone to be like my Android, I don't mind making my Android like my iphone, now both are roughly the same, handy. - Overall a good launcher regardless tho.

Only needed if you own a Samsung phone.

Veteran Nova Launcher user here too! Hands down one of the easiest launchers to use. Highly recommended even at full price.

  • Good find !

I've been using this app paid version for a few years it's a must if your on Samsung's painfully slow touchwiz rubbish.
    Well with the 99c

  • +1

Got it when it was 20cents. Well worth it

  • Yep, get it while it's hot.

  • Use it everyday, love it. 99 cents is a steal.

  • +1

Got it last time also. Been using this since it came out. Every other launcher seems to be clunky and not as intuitive. Every time I think I want a change, I end up back with Nova…

  • Essential launcher. I used it since Samsung S3. Its gesture controls and customization is great

  • +5

But does it have Fitzy and Wippa?

  • The best launcher out to date. Heavily customisable yet can be very simplistic in nature.

Been using Nova launcher for some years now and having several other purchased launchers I am always coming back to Nova.

  • +1

Can't recommend this app enough, I've been using it for years and it's the best launcher by far.

  • Good find

  • I just paid full price for it last week…

    • Doesn't google have a price guarantee? Or is that only for devices?

      • +1

I checked with Google support just out of curiosity. They told me to contact the developer. I'm not going to bother though - it's only a few dollars.

        • Aw must just be devices then. I remember automatically receiving a refund of the difference when I bought a Nexus 4 and it had a price drop around a week later.

  • Not sure. Looks a bit outdated

  • +4

Just bought as good reviews. I actually have no idea what it is however.
Just downloaded and it's pretty much wiped my homepage of apps. I don't get it?

    • +1

It deletes all your apps and content…. ;) jk

double tap on the homescreen and the app draw should pop up…if you disable the launcher and go back to the normal launcher everything will be back to how it is

    • +2

It'll basically allow you to customise your home page and app drawer. Want big icons in your app drawer but smaller ones on your home page? You can do it. Want to swipe down to open the camera? You can do it. Want to hide apps that you never touch from the app drawer? you can do it.

I'd just suggest going through all the settings and having a play around. If you want to change how the icons look, you can install icon packs (just search for icon pack in the play store).

As an example, this is what my home page looks like right now.

  • Bought it last time as well. Thought the same UI across multiple devices would be good. Not a fan though.

    • What didn't you like about it? Thanks

      • Mainly the menu system, and you needed to learn it (where everything was in all the different categories), rather than you knowing where everything was.
Was useful across different phones & tablets I guess.

  • highly recommended, has been my main interface/launcher on android since my galaxy nexus..
while stock android on my nexus 6 i thought would be fine, went back to nova prime after 10 minutes when i realised i couldnt change the icon size on stock android and the icons were huge…
it really is only way to go on android.. even when u run stock..
prob first app i download.. get it cheaper while u can.. tho also be ready to donate to the developer when he does stuff u like..

  • Nice! I've been on the free version waiting for this one. Thanks OP!

  • Best launcher ever. Period

  • Got the prime last time this deal was on, well worth it.

  • Can confirm, best launcher I've used. Using it for years on all my devices.

  • +1

Don't need it but don't know what else to spend my Google Play credits on so bought! Thanks OP!

  • Thanks Op. Bought it.

  • Can you use this launcher on Samsung Tab s please.?
Are thier advantages on using this on a tablet..?

    • Install Nova Launcher and give it a try. If you like it buy Prime. I haven't used the Tab UI but I have Nova Prime on my phone and tabs, it's nice and quick.

  • +2

Bought it last time, due to hype & excessive google play/telstra credits I'll never use. Still gathering dust. I'll try it one day. Still not sure what's so broken about other/standard launchers.

    (using Oxygen on OnePlusX, here)

I recently started using it on my xperia after the marshmallow updated XXXXing broke horizontal homepage when docked on the standard xperia launcher. I prefer the xperia launcher prior to them breaking it, but nova is good enough. It really does a rubbish job of handling widgets on my phone though. I had no idea that was even a problem on a launcher, but it really is bad on nova, every widget I've tried. The audible launcher suddenly disappeared and doesn't even show in the widget selection anymore. None of the widgets size properly in either portrait and landscape (eg player FM, Audible while it was still there, Rocket player), the inbuilt weather widget you get with xperias looks terrible in nova, like a cartoon version of it. The xperia inbuilt allows folders in the app page too natively which is great. I was thinking of upgrading to prime, but the widget handling and their knowledge of it (from googling about) an inaction on it for years makes me wonder.

PS - it looks like audible broke their widget - it has disappeared in their last update (it doesn't show anymore on the xperia launcher either).

    • Easily edit amount of home pages, change scrolling animation, use home button to open app drawer, change the grid size on homepages, addon allows counters for mail/txt/whatever, add recent apps to app drawer. Those are just the things I set up on every phone.

  • Can this auto rotate homescreen when i rotate my phone?

    • It doesn't on my xperia, it'll only rotate in dock. I might just be missing a setting somewhere I can't find.

    • +2

Yup it can. It'll be under Look and Feel in settings, and then orientation.

      • Hah, nice, thanks for that. I didn't find that one.

  • How does this compare to the Google Now launcher? I'm pretty happy with GN tbh but if this is better I will consider switching.

    • +1

If you want a clean desktop, it is great (which I do). I like to have my desktop just a random photo walllpaper and as little clutter on it as possible. I created a theme for my phone with transparent home back etc buttons. The app drawer button from my theme didn't show under nova, but nova does allow you to specify your own icon for the app drawer button. Google now launcher didn't (when I tried it recently) allow a tidy home screen and you are always forced (I found) to have the search bar on it.

      • +2

One of the reasons I moved from Google Now to Nova launcher is to get rid of the search bar.

        • +1

OK so it wasn't just me who couldn't figure how to get rid of that! It is pretty intrusive, IMHO.

  • Does this drain the battery?
I installed last night and hardly used my phone, but the battery usage is heavy and way down.
Not sure if is coincidence or not.
    Anyone else noticed the same?

  • CM13 stock launcher's serving me well, but hey, only $0.99! Thanks OP :D

  • Got it! Best launcher, end of story!

  • Just wanted to say a big thank you to the OP. I recently changed to Android from iPhone and this launcher has made the process so easy…. THANK YOU!

  • Previously bought at full price, worth every cent.

  • is it still on sale?

  • Does this allow to open your camera app faster from standby?
