How is the one from Ozstock?

    http://www.ozstock.com.au/
2 x 6-Way SANSAI Surge Protected Power Board with Individual On/Off Switches and Extra Spacing

    • +1

      $28.98 + shipping is not a bargain!

+1 for Individual On/Off Switches and Extra Spacing but Belkin’s Unlimited Connected Equipment Warranty got my vote for peace of mind.

      • how was that not a bargain? i thought its 2 of that 6-way boards in ozstock…
though I didn't get it because there is an annoying light that is constantly on, (assuming that it stays on even when all the points in the board is not in use.)

        • You probably wont like this Belkin either then. Most of these surge protected boards have a light to tell you that its protected. Silly thing is though, even when the varistor is gone the light still stays on.

    • That one looks similar to the one from Jaycar:

      http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MS4066

    • Thank you , i just picked 2 up from Ozstock plugging them in now

  • Cheapest on staticICE is $65, not including delivery.

    Snatched 3.

  • Great find :) Got 4 of em, might get more later

    • For this price I think will sold out in the next 12hrs. Get 'em now or too late :-)

  • +1

    Thanks for the reminder.
It says $29 on the front page now.

    • They fixed quick and take out 2 Day Offer too. Hope they have enough stocks to last for 24 hrs :-)

  • Has anyone here ever actually lost electrical equipment before to a power surge?

These things are not going to actually stop a lightning strike from destroying your gear; see this thread

    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=2421176#post…

$29 is pretty cheap "insurance" though - if Belkin actually pays out.

Here is the product link on belkin

    • No equipment lost to a surge but I have had a Belkin surge protector expire on me (presumably from a power surge). Replacement of the product was a simple process. Just a phonecall to Belkin claims.

      • Did you need to provide a receipt in order to claim? Kinda hard keeping a receipt for the life of the product…

        • Not in my case. I just described the pattern of the light indicators on the surge protector and they sent me a new one within a few days.

    • Yep - came home one day to a quiet house with the servers powered off and no internet. Went to the comms cabinet in the garage and found that both the power board and the ADSL modem rattled. There had been a nearby lightning strike (I live 100m from a major power substation) and the power board had given up its life protecting the servers. The energy in the surge was enough to melt some components. The modem was plugged into power board, but the phone line wasn't, so the modem died.

Interestingly, the audio-video equipment (TV, amp, DVD etc) and its power board were still working. I replaced the power board anyway since MOV's are prone to silent failures - the equipment connected to the board still gets an electrical supply, but since the MOV have failed, the board provides no protection.

Damn this is badly designed. Recessed outlets and so close togehter! Forget about using any bulky chargers.

    • They are a bit close, which is a bit of a spew, but at the price for $29 with the surge protection i ordered 3.!

      • +1

Agreed, was going to buy this, but thought about how I would plug everything in… not happening lol

    • Exactly. I hate recessed outlets, and I have too many 'brick' chargers for this to be of any use to me.

    • Yeah kinda sucks can't use large power adapters but for the price & warranty…won't let 'em get away either :-)

  • Took a while for the page to load, timed out a few times, eventually got 2 myself, bargain!

For those who have the Woolies Everyday Reward card don't forget to fill in your number.

  • I have a DSE gift voucher, can someone please tell me if there is an option in the checkout process to use it online? Or can they only be used in store?

  • Thanks for the reminder almost forgot -ordered 2 .site is very slow and recieved this message a few times so will sell out fast- This Store is currently experiencing heavy traffic
    and cannot serve your request.

    Please try again later.

    • Likewise - nearly forgot (and ordered two)…

  • Agreed. Great deal reminder. Otherwise, I would have forgotten.

  • Don't really need one at this stage… but I got one anyways. :p

  • Thanks for that, Great deal bought 2

  • +1

    why is this a reminder….? isn't a reminder a duplicate?

hey that doesnt deserve a neg! if your gonna neg let me know why!!!!

    it was a simple question!

edit: lol more negs with no explanation why, very weak!

at least when i neg someone i usually give them a reason as to why i did!

    • lol, my thoughts exactly but I knew some idiot(s) would neg the comment!

  • Thanks, got 2.

  • +1

    thx for the reminder

  • got 2, thanks.

  • +1

thanks, don't need it, but got one anyway :)

  • Got one as well but I don't really need it.

  • Nice deal. Especially on the warranty, well worth the money!

  • wooh! Just ordered mine!

  • just bought 2.
    Great Price!!!!!

  • Well reminded ta very much!

  • The SWANN DVR4-2500 DVR kit on the same page is also at an excellent price.

  • Great price. I've never been so excited about a surge protector before! :O

I'm glad that ozbargainers are taking an interest in this product…the product is selling much faster than i expected and will soon sell out.

Currently at this stage i'm expecting this offer to run out of stock before 7pm. We'll be putting up a sold out sign on the offer soon.

So if you really want the offer - you'd better hurry up and get it.

    • Currently at this stage i’m expecting this offer to run out of stock before 7pm.

Then this deal only last for around 12hrs. Thanks to the force of OzB! :)

    • great deal - but it still says $25 on the main page!

      • It's $29, clean up your internet cache.

    • Oh mannn i got home at quarter to 7!

Thanks for organising this deal… but i'd be happier if i actually got one =(

any chance for getting more stock? please?

  • was gonna buy 2..
    but then again.. bulky chargers..
i'll just get 1 for the TV and consoles!

    thx mate!
btw.. how is this a "COMPACT" Surge Protector?

  • Great Product and a great price to top it off! Hope DSE have more great deals like this in the future. Just ordered 2!!

    • Great!! just got one!!

  • just got one
    awesome

  • Just got one although I doubt that all my telecommunication equiptment(modems, voip)would fit due to boxy adaptors. Oh well, still, brilliant price +1

  • thanks got 2 :P

gonna replace my crappy ones with this ^_^

  • My LCD monitor is flickering because of the noise, 60Hz I think, so is this thing going to help me?

    • +1

You may have to look into a UPS with power filtering, have a look at some of the APC units.

  • Sold out.

  • sigh…i should come back home earlier, or check the ozb in the company.

  • +5

Some people are tight with their +1, they buy 2 or 3 and yet they don't give a +1

    • +1

Always the case. Keep in mind that most users on this site are "guests" who don't even have accounts.

      • We should ban guests!!!!!!!

  • Thanks

  • Good deals don't last long~!

  • Ordered 2 earlier, I've had The ADSL port on my modem fry and a netgear NAS die on me during one particular thunderstorm. Thankfully both were replaced under warranty as they were less than a year old.

  • The surge protector itself is not good in terms of design so I'm guessing everybody got one for the warranty.

  • too many clauses in the warranty

  • Guys I got two for $25 each.I made an enquiry yesterday about the price difference and toady they offered me 2 at $25 each.

    • What do you mean?

      • There was a pricing error when the deal was first launched. It was advertised as $25 each. I guess people who ordered prior to the change can dispute getting charged $29 to get the discount like Sachy did.

      • Yesterday I sent them an email complaining about the price difference. Today a CS consultant called me and took the order over phone for 2 at $25.Great.Lesson- if there is something wrong, do complain. Again it depends on the retailer. Some will follow the correct practices some just turn away.

  • How would this one compare to the Huntkey one posted up last week on OzBargain?
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/25136

  • Ah ic, so you saved $8.
    LOL
I won't complain as $29 is already cheap enough!

  • got mine this afternoon….bigger than i thought though

  • damn, just saw this & it's SOLD OUT!!

anymore in stock? or chance or restock? :-(

  • Received my three today. Despite the supposedly dreaded recessed sockets, every one of my plugs—over a dozen—have clicked in snugly, and without getting in the way of other plugs.

Very happy; only regret is that I didn't snatch six.

  • Got an email from DSE with AAE tracking number.
I'm guessing I'll receive it tomorrow.

  • Received it this morning. Comes in a unbelievable large box (for a surgeboard). I think the delivery itself is costing DSE more than $29.

    • Just opened the box. Looks a bit refurbished to me…

      • the box mine came in could have fitted 6 easy for my two must have cost heaps to WA

        • I reckon… what a huge box and only ordered 1…

  • My huge box was labelled "Belkin". I ordered 2 units so I guess they probably used one size for everyone's order.
    Great quality! Using it now.

  • some of my equipment can't plug in…since it only accept circle socket,….some of my plug is in square shape..

  • Got mine (x2) today, picked up from the post office as the courier came by yesterday and no one was home.

    Yup! Big delivery box indeed!

  • I ordered mine last Monday and still didn't receive mine. Called up DSE and they told me 2 of my orders have been canbcelled, the Swann DVR4-2500 kit and the Belkin surge protector.

Not happy since it allowed me to put the orders in. The DVR is not $1199 and they wont sell it to me for $799 anymore.

  • Threaten legal action if they don't provide a decent explanation for the cancellation, eg. fraudant credit card, DSE warehouse burnt down overnight, Belkin products massive recall.

  • When I called them yesterday the girl said she will escalate to a senior then I got an email today saying the items have been shipped.

    I am happy again :)
