These would come in handy if Apple does indeed remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7.

    • +2

Easy solution is to not buy the iPhone 7 and get a flagship that does have an audio jack.

      • +1

Unless like a lot of people you are bought into the apple ecosystem with iMessage, iCloud, have an Apple Music subscription, a Mac, an iPad, Apple certified devices with lightning ports, invested money into the App Store.

It might just be easier getting Bluetooth headphones.

        • Or just get iPhone 6 plus. You don't need the newest one to have a powerful phone.

        • @Agret:

Or you could you know, buy a small cable adapter for the iPhone 7 or buy Bluetooth headphones.
There may be features in the iPhone 7 which would mean the inconvenience of no 3.5mm would be negligible. It's not all about having a powerful phone. If you bought the iPhone 5 and never updated it from the stock iOS it would be powerful. We can't speculate because nothing has been announced yet.

  • Wait for price to drop below $350 before Xmas.

    • +15

Not gonna happen. Bose is like Apple, they don't drop prices.

      • Possible. The RRP will fall below $400 in 6 months time + 20% ebay coupon = $320.

        • +5

Bose don't change their RRPs over time (or if they do it's very rare). E.g. QC20 was $399 the day it went on sale in 2013. It's still the exact same price.

        • The QC25 was $319 at Myer 7 months ago.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/218587

I'll wait for the next 20% off on all Bose products. The price should come down to $400.
I suggest everyone should test before buy.

        • -6

@PW: The QC25 are also very old. Now you probably understand how they were 20% off. You're not going to see these at $400 then 20% off that again!

        • +2

@chir0nex: Bose QC25 is definitely not "very old". It came out less than 2 years ago

        • The RRP will fall below $400

What is any other product where the RRP falls?

        • @PW: Most probably $419. There will be $100 difference compared with QC25, unless Bose decide to reduce the price of QC25.

        • Buy from the Bose store and get a 21 day satisfaction guarantee no questions asked full refund.

        • A little different here as they're continuing to sell the QC25s alongside the QC35s, as in there will always be a premium for the wireless version. Can't see it dropping to QC25 prices anytime soon.

  • +2

Just to note. Melbourne City Bose have these for $449

    • +5

      We ship Australia wide!

    • +1

If you combine with the Amex mid-year offer makes it $419

      • All Bose stores allow you to split payments.. So try $329? :D

        • The Amex terms and conditions stipulate that you can only use it once per retailer

        • @nexus4: I put on 4 different AMEXs ($100 each for the first 3 and then $149 on the last) and received 4 notifications.

      • Bought one yesterday from Bose outlet on St kilda rd for $449 but had to pay a 3% Amex surcharge.

    • Which Melbourne city store?

      • +21

Did we mention that we can ship it to your desk?!

      • La Trobe Street or Emporium

    • +2

Hmmm $378 including TRS and Amex rebate. Damn that is tempting, though trying to justify when I already have the Sennheiser Urbanite XL wireless…

      • Aaaaand less than 24 hours later these are on my head. Picked them up from the Westfield Sydney store and they had no problems price matching $449, didn't even need to show proof :)

        • I'm trying them out now too, and it's good that I happen to have a Samsung smart TV that can connect to a wireless headphone directly! Now the question.. Whether I should keep QC25 or not?

    • Also purchased from Bose Emporium in Melbourne for $449. They said that they do price matching so I mentioned AudioTrends.

  • +2

    Silver or Black? Hrm….

    • I've spent the last 10 minutes pondering the same thing…

      • +1

Black looks good - doesn't get dirty as easily.

Silver just looks premium but will get dirtier easier overtime..

        Mmm… Can't win!

        • What did you decide?

        • @markis: yet to decide mate! :P if i do go ahead it'll probably be back. I know i love the Triple Black on the QC25.

    • +3

Buy both. Match your suit for the day.

I can get it for $250, is it worth it?

    • +2

Great price! How can you get it for $250?

    • +2

how, where & how many can you get?

    • +2

Dno where you can get it for that price? 100% worth it. I paid around $300 for a pair of QC15's around 7 years ago, traded up to the QC25's for $100 around 4 years ago. Absolute lifesavers for long flights. This new QC35 has all the features I have dreamed of (rechargeable battery, wireless, can play without battery) and makes it by far the best consumer aviation headset on the market.

    • +1

      Are they legit? Following

    • EDITED…kudos to staff discount

  • +2

Bose is giving 50% discount to its retailer's staff. But I couldn't justify paying $250 as I already have a QC25. This one has the advantage of Bluetooth but I won't be using it much. The noise cancelling on QC25 is good, but is QC35 any better?

    • Prepare your inbox.

    • +6

So how many can you buy as a staff buy? Maybe you can supply the retailers too?

      • Just one I think.

    • +1

i say the noise cancelling is slightly better, but the audio sounds much better in my opinion, wider soundstage and more dynamic… although it still cant compare to my B&O H8 :) but the Bose's Noise cancelling is best!!

      • +1

Great info. Thanks. I'll get it and report my opinion.

    • +1

Hey can you hook me up with the deal? Willing to meet at bose melb central and can make it worth your while. PM me

      • Sure I'll compare it to my qc25 and if it was similar or slighltly better I'll hook you up.

        • if possible, hook me up too! I'll be back in Melb on 1 July :) Let me know if you need anything from Singapore

        • Hook me up too @ melb central

      • Staff discount. 1 Unit only! He could start an Auction.

  • This deal has been on whirlpool for a few days but with $8 postage, i tried the last model Bose Soundlink 11 B/tooth from Apple but sent them back as they didn't sound any better than the AE2i that i am using without the b/tooth.
Are these better than the Soundlink 11?

  • great deal rep!

Any chance the Sennheiser hd650's will be reduced further in the future? Last time we had a deal on that was ages and Im sure a few of us are keen on getting a pair ;)

    Thanks!

    • Best price I've seen recently was this deal from StoreDJ last month. HD650s were $375 (and HD600s $275) after applying the $50 off code.

    • I want to unload my HD650. i certainly use t1 and momentum more than 650. But from now on, i will carry my qc25 with me wherever i go. So that i can buy the qc35 when it drops to 400.

      • Perhaps we can work something out if you live in Sydney!

  • Can these be recommended for studying and wearing around the house so I don't have to listen to my family whinge?

    • +6

      I recommend earplugs.

      • I thought that too but then most ear plugs are disposable, no?

        • Yes but if you keep shoving earplugs into your families throats every time they whine then they'll learn to stop whining.

      • That's passive method. You need something Active!!! Such as a normal headphone with "Rainy Mood" App.

    • +1

      I recommend new family

  • +4

If you bought a pair of QC25's after Feb 1, Bose stores will let you trade up by just paying the difference

    • Interesting, does this also apply to QC25s from the Qantas FF store? I would really like the new 35s.

      • I would love to know this.

      • I assume not as they won't know the different to charge. But if you don't have a receipt they will let you trade up for around $270 (plus handing in your 25s)

      • I've just given them a call now (the Camberwell store - VIC), they told me they could change QFF store QC25 over for $200. I'm not sure if that's worth it..

        • you certainly can sell qc25s for more than $200.

        • +1

@alwayseric: I meant that they'll switch the qc25 that I got from Qantas Frequent flyer points to a qc35 headset for $200,so i guess the question would be whether my used qc25 could sell for $249 to reach this price, or $299 for rrp of the qc35. Just letting ppl who got the Qantas deal that it's possible to trade up but costs $200 to do so.

        • @lukejoh: Very useful info. I thought about this but decided to buy QC35s using AMEXs ($120 discount effectively for each set) which will definitely work out better than trading up even if the QC25s sell for less than $249.

    • +1

Where did you find this info? Does it only apply if you purchase from Bose store, or from any retailer (JB for example)?

      • +1

Yeah I got my QC25's just before the New Year.
Would love to know where you're getting this specific Feb 1st date from.

      • +1

I called Bose. If you bought QC25's after Feb 1st, even at JB Hi-Fi, bring in your receipt, headphones, box, accessories, and they exchange them for the QC35's after you pay any difference in price. The exchange is only available in Bose stores, but they do accept the exchange when you initially purchased at another store/dealer. Not sure how they would do it if you bought with FF Points.

        • Damn I got mine around December 26th just gone. I wonder how strict they'd be on the Feb 1st part.

        • Just called Bose Subiaco, and they said they would exchange my QC25's as long as they are unopened that I bought with Frequent Flyer Points. He did have to go away and check on the FF points though. Guess that means I would get to trade them in at RRP, awesome. If I could convince them to price match that would be a steal, but I'm not going to push my luck on this one.

      • I spoke with the guys in the Bose store in Brisbane, Chermside yesterday and confirmed with their Indooripilly store also

        • +1

Is it difference in RRP ($100) or the difference between what your QC25 invoice is and what they'll sell you the QC35 for ($450)?

        • +1

          @chir0nex:

Yes but I assume its difference to their RRP ($499) unless you can get them to price match Audiotrends and then do the tradeup

I'll end up paying $100 if they don't price match, and with my Amex i will get $30 anyhow. so I'm happy with $70 to upgrade to the latest model

  • How do these compare to Beats?

    • +2

      Different league altogether

  • Got a deal for the new QC30 at all?

    • Not yet released in Australia… But when they are…

  • Recommend for using at the Gym? I'm willing to pay $ for good wireless headphones.

    • +1

      jaybird or something equivalent.

unless you just want to show up in the gym like a douche bag.

      • I bought the jaybird x2s recently (wasn't gonna shell the extra for the freedom) and they're excellent gym buds. I've worked out with overears before and hate how sweat accumulates. Eugh. Never again.

  • Just wonder if anyone on OZB pays half thousand for a wireless headset!
