Nutella Road Trip - Free Nutella Dishes (NSW/VIC)

650

All the menu items are free

A giant silver toaster – with a crisp, golden slice of bread protruding from it – will be cruising down the Hume in a couple of weeks. Inside will be a whole lot of Nutella.

The food truck has been designed for an East Coast road trip from New South Wales to Victoria. It will serve a menu of Nutella-inspired dishes for free from the giant toaster, with options including a zesty mandarin dipped in Nutella and studded with roasted hazelnuts, and a crepe stack served with stewed berries, toasted coconut, bacon and drizzled Nutella.

The Nutella food truck will start its journey on Wednesday June 15 in Sydney. After its New South Wales stint, it will cross the Victorian border and cruise through Bendigo (on June 23) and Ballarat (on June 24). It will then travel through Melbourne (from June 25 to 27), before making its way to its final destination, Geelong (June 28).

Menu items are limited to one per person on a first come, first served basis.

        It's pronounced NOO-TEL-AH not NAH-TEL-AH.

        • that's how the Italians and French pronounce it…

        • Eat more NOOTS, they are good for you.

        • They can all jam it, it's Nutel-la.

Hopefully there's an insulin truck following close behind.

    • and behind that is the Atkins diet truck.

    • Maybe some people need a common sense truck to teach them to eat in moderation…

Nutella is centered as not a healthy food, but a 'have it occasionally on a sandwich or something' type food..

Fearmongering, just like all these 'anti GMO' posts. GMOs don't cause autism, neither do vaccines. There is no scientific proof backing any of the claims on these websites.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, kids!

Yes, fear-mongering. That's what it is. Nothing but fear-mongering. A specialty of mine. Millions of people around the world want GMOs out of their food simply because they are fear-mongers, I reckon.

Nothing like home-grown, in unconaminated soil. Witihout genetically-modified seeds. Deep inside, you know this is the truth. You do. GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) Contamination of Organic Foods | The Organic & Non-GMO Report - http://www.non-gmoreport.com/nongeneticallymodifiedfoodorgan…

You are just too 'cool' to admit the truth.
And you know it takes too much of your precious time to CARE.
          It's far easier not to.

        • @cheepwun: I'm not educated on the subject, but GMOs make a lot of good for the world. They make it easier for farmers to make the food you love - resistance against weeds and pests, higher yields, and different textures and tastes. On top of that, less use of pestacides and herbicides, making it easier to eat.

          Credable, at least.

          ????
No point arguing. You obviously know about the food I love. And you have the monopoly on credibility. And comedy.

      • Go back to your vegemite…

When you start ranting from websites such as those you just linked, you lose all credibility.

Did you even bother reading the sources and scientific papers (if there are even any) they referenced? I'm guessing not.

Look at those websites, full of clickbait titles like 'Top 10 foods to heal your body', 'Top 5 foods to avoid' etc

If you want to fall for these by all means go ahead, but don't go around preaching those garbage without knowing anything yourself.

      • I'd just like to add on, that most people don't understand what GMO even is, and the ignorance/panic is astounding. The majority of the food you have consumed has been GM. It ought to be thought of as almost cross-breeding for certain characteristics (drought resistance, pest resistance, higher yield, aesthetics, etc.) If you're not freaked out that we created disease ridden tea-cup Chihuahuas for fun, why are you freaking out about some drought resistant wheat?

      • Did you even bother reading the sources and scientific papers (if there are even any) they referenced? I'm guessing not.

Please link to your scientific papers, then tell me who sponsored the research. Or don't you bother to do that?

      • When you start ranting from websites such as those you just linked, you lose all credibility.

You should speak to someone with real power. You know, like those countries that banned Genetically Modified seeds. You should be telling them they should overturn that ruling. Your well-reasoned, calm insults will go down well with the suit crowd. And then you could collect that lovely salary. You should also pay someone to keep existing laws that don't require the labelling of GMO foods, so that, you know…people don't need to make 'complex' decisions about what goes in their bodies.

The question I need answered is: can I buy this big toaster for $6000?

  • +2

To be pedantic, 15 June is Wednesday.

  • The food truck is in front of Wynyard station this morning , york street

  • Apparently the Melbourne stop ends at 11am and the map is completely wrong. What the… would love to try this but not at that time!

  • I lined up at Wynyard this morning. The line was definitely shorter after 9.30am. Don't get the bacon option as the portion size is tiny. The raisin toast with berries is a good choice.

I am heartbroken lads. I live in ballarat and was preparing my stomach for a free feed tomorrow morning and ive just been informed that I will be required to be in Bendigo for work :(

Have decided to compensate by buying nutella and bacon, frying the bacon and dipping it in copious amounts of nutella.

    • You might pass a giant toaster on your way to Bendigo
