Look OK, but "refurbished"?? No, that's bullcrap.
Refurb means things like replacing the case so it looks new.
And for an old laptop it should DEFINITELY mean a new battery.

Refurb does not mean wiping the dust off.

    • Of course, if the battery is insufficient for normal use within three months, then you could certainly claim its repair or replacement via warranty.

It's a good point: all refurbs should clearly state the condition of the battery.

      • I tried three at their shop last month, and picked one seems have longer battery life on display, so far, it last 2.5 hours on web surfing and excel editing. Seems okay, but be good if you can visit them coz it all have different manufacture date.

    • Hmmm, title changed from "refurbished" to "used."

  • Shit.I picked up this last month at their Mt waverley shop for $399 and they throw a mouse and keyboard for free, now seems I should have wait a bit longer…

batteries are typically considered as 'consumables' and so are not covered under standard warranty or have different warranty terms(as some can be abused), so i would check out the used machine in person

    • Agree, I remember IBM machine would actually display times of the battery been charged. Dont think HP has it, but I recall last month they have another HP model which still have few month of Manufuture waranty left. I would recommand you go there and pick your own.
Any idea how much a brand new battery cost? If is less than 100, i still consider a good buy compare with those 499 netbooks in floating everywhere.

  • is it hackintoshable ?

  • If you can't pickup in Melbourne shipping seems to be $14.95 to $24.95.

  • They never replied my messages after I made a purchase a few days ago and found that they could not confirm the payment. Still waiting now…
It is a good deal but need to improve the service as well IMO.

    • now got the message from budgetpc saying the trans was completed. Thanks.

      • Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • this makes me think i should sell my 'old' laptopn after purchasing a new asus ul30vt.. i wonder how much i can get for my ASUS A8JS C2D T7200/2GB/120HD/G7700/14.1 1400*900… just sitting at home.. but i must admit the battery is pretty much dead!

    • the CPU temp of my asus is VERY high - over 90 degrees -ALWAYS

  • core 2, dvdrw, dedicated graphic card
consider the $$$, ideal notebook for my kids
