Winery Tasting Notes

Made entirely from Chardonnay, this Blanc de Blanc is crafted from premium cold climate vineyards in the Upper Yarra Valley. Grapes were hand harvested to ensure elegance of structure, bottle fermented then aged on lees for 2 years. The result is an outstanding sparkling Blanc de Blancs exhibiting true Yarra Valley terroir.

Appearance

Crystal clear with a fine and persistent bead. Medium straw with a fresh green gold hue.

Aroma

Lifted citrus, brioche like yeast and sea spray characters.

Palate

A bright Chardonnay driven style of fresh citrus and complemented by secondary yeast characters. Fresh and lively on the palate with a balanced acidity and crisp finish. Fine and elegant in structure with great persistence. Flavours reminiscent of lemon curd and sherbet with nuances of yeasty sourdough. A fine example of premium Yarra Valley Chardonnay in a bottle fermented sparkling wine style.

      altomic, are you recommending based on apparent value, reviews or personal experience?

      It is bloody cheap and I am a fan of frexinet which is also a Cava from the same region.

    I've tried the Yarra Burn Blanc de Blac before and it's a very palatale local wine. Hoping to this clearskin will be similar.Thanks for posting this.

    If it's so frigging good, and normally sells for $17….

    …how come the makers are dumping it unlabelled?

    The obvious answer is that they cannot sell it with a label on it. Because if they could, they would.

    PS: I have heaps of cleanskin Grange, if people are interested. 100% genuine, trust me :-D
