Ordered some last night for pickup from Marrickville Metro. Got an email this morning saying it's out of stock
So a minimum of 15 boxes for free click and collect…
Has anyone had experience with obscure/possibly out of stock items like this?
Will they call you or let you know the items are unavailable in-store (even though online says available) or will they only try to look for the items once you physically show up in-store, and the guy at the counter will come back after a few minutes telling you its out-of-stock?
iirc they will send an email notifying you that items are out of stock and adjust the total pricing. This was for an item which had no similar replacement. Don't expect them to replace it with an item which isn't on sale though, they aren't that generous. Likely will be cancellation if that happens.
At checkout webpage, select can replace all unavailable items may help.

Very very very little chance.
Once upon a time, I ordered some Home Brand items, and was out of stock, they substituted them with branded equivalent for me.
I remember a couple years ago, tooblue got substitute of multple smaller packages for a bigger package.
As Atangk points out, it's more likely they refund the missing items. It is a sheer luck. It depends on the staff who picks the stocks.

But this is more likely to happen if you buy like one or two of an item along with a whole cart of stuff, but 15 boxes? No way.
have some experience on the other side of this, might vary from store to store. But if you only order a few and the items are out of stock, they are usually happy to replace with any similar item, even if its not on sale.
Usually it's at the discretion of the supervisor for the shift, and depends on what kind of items they are.
so 15 boxes will likely lead to just a refund for missing items.
Woolworths at Central Park doesn't seem to carry 12 packs. Going to Balmain, gonna check there and see if they have some floating around. Would LOVE some tonic water for some gin I ozbargained at half price from BWS.
